“Reading Journal Articles” Questions

1. What do you need to do to prepare to read a peer-review article? Beginning with,


composing questions toward the professor that will pertain to the subject specifically and
will be resourceful for future tasks. Following, starting between the first and last pages to
have a glimpse of what each issue significance will be. Thirdly, composing ideas of
analyzation and logical components that belongs to the article or journal. Fourthly,
rephrasing headlines and details into questions. Last but not least, collecting background
information will be useful to identify important details and main clues effectively. And
finally, finding a calm, space full, relatable location were one can study or work and learn
properly and efficiently.
2. What should you do while reading a peer-review article? Reflecting about the
manners used in an article or journal in evaluating each component that conveys the
message towards their audience and skimming and picking out clues that can be useful
and significant for solving the purpose of each article. Secondly, breaking down each
component in each paragraph and rephrasing it into your own logic and belief. Thirdly,
modifying questions and thoughts as you skim through each paragraph and implementing
those ideas into future discussions and assignments. Lastly, highlighting only the
important main phrases in each section rather the whole sentence structure.
3. What should you do when you finish reading a peer-review article?
Studying the article, a third time can attribute in making clearer distinctions than
previously reading the article or journal and also summarization, lastly exchanging ideas
with colleagues can be useful to also know other people’s opinion or perspective toward
each subject.
