Diagnostic Software Tools

Computer diagnostics tools are pieces of software that provide you
with the information you need to repair your own computer. Some of
these tools are included with your operating system, while others are
developed by third-party software companies.

Windows Performance Monitor

In Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 10, the Performance Monitor is a tool for
measuring computer performance in real time or from a log. The image
below shows a real-time example of the Performance Monitor graphing
the percentage of CPU time. By right-clicking the chart and selecting
Add Counters, you may add more values to it.
How to open the Windows Performance Monitor

1. Click the Start.

Windows Directory Statistics
WinDirStat (Windows Directory Statistics) is a disk utilization analyzer

directories, files, and file kinds are taking up the most space. These
reports are available in three formats: a directory list organized by file
size, a treemap that displays all files in the directory, and an extension
list that displays usage statistics by file type. These reports can be
emailed as attachments.

WinDirStat allows the user to open Windows Explorer to clean up

directories or delete files and folders directly from within an
application. Users can also create executable actions that will run on
demand and perform disk upkeep.

Microsoft Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Vista, and XP for both
IA-32 and 64 versions of these operating systems and displays
information about the computer's hardware and software to the user.
Speccy's display of informationcontains CPU type and model, hard drive
size and speed, memory (RAM), graphics card information, and
operating system information. Speccy is used to keep track of what
hardware is installed and how it is being used in a system.
