THE TOEIC LISTENING AND READING TEST

Directions: Think of a listening or reading activity that you like to use in your classroom. Briefly
explain it. Be sure to consider how teachers and learners can assess whether the learning
objective has been met.
Example:

Learning Objective Activity Assessment

We will be able to hear
the main idea in public
announcements.
1. Explain that important
words are stressed in spoken
English, and provides some
examples.
2. Play several recordings of
train/airplane
announcements. learners
listen for the main idea.
Each learner has one green card
with “Yes” written on it, and one
red card with “No” written on it.
After each announcement, ask
learners Yes/No questions about
the announcements. Learners
answer the questions by holding up
the appropriate card.
