(AC-S03) Week 3 - Task: Assignment - How

old are you?


Hello everybody!
Now it's time for you to do the task for this week. Read the instructions
below. Remember that if you need to review a topic, you can always check the course
material as many times as you need. Keep in mind that you have to present this task
during week 3.

1. Outcome
Through this activity, students introduce themselves to someone they don´t know,
share information, and talk about a personal object using the grammar and vocabulary
learned in Weeks 1 to 3.

2. Description
 Step 1: Collaborative work (get into pairs).
 Step 2: Check this week’s study material and your sessions’ notes.
 Step 3: Prepare a 1- minute presentation with your partner.
o Situation: Imagine it´s your first day of class at the university and you are
meeting a new classmate. Your partner is your new classmate. Introduce
yourself to him/her. Ask and answer personal information questions to each
other. Ask and answer questions about a personal item he/she has in the
class.
o Content:
 Vocabulary and expressions (Weeks 1-3)
 Countries and nationalities.
 Greetings, depending on the time of the day.
 Phrases and questions from the unit: "What’s your name?",
"Where are you from?", "How old are you?"
 Yes / no questions like: "Are you from Lima?" “Is this your cell
phone?” Is that your watch?”
 Affirmative and negative answers (Yes, I am/ No, I´m not. I´m from
Arequipa/ Yes, it is/ No, it isn´t. My cell phone is black).
 1st and 2nd person singular form (I, You).
 Farewells

 Step 4:
o Practice the dialogue with your partner paying attention to the
pronunciation and intonation.
o Practice again and record the dialogue.
o Remember to transmit your personal emotions as in a real situation.
 Step 5: Once you are ready, record yourselves in multimedia in the learning platform
or upload your video in Youtube /Drive and share the link in a Word format in the
platform.
 Step 6: Use the following structure:
o Cover: Your names and last names must be there. Include your photos. There are
2 options to do it: (Choose one)
o Option 1: Insert the cover in your video, if you record it in the Learning
Platform.
o Option 2: Insert the cover in a Word format with the YouTube link/Drive
link.
