restraint systems. We have custom solutions, rewebbing and plating solutions for our customers. ABI is an Ontic company and
also offers:
• Custom Design for your restraint systems. Every belt is designed to fit the size, shape, color and
technical needs of your aircraft.
• Safety. Every belt is certified to FAA TSO C114 and made following FAA procedures and standards.
• Quality. Every belt is manufactured to stringent FAA TSO requirements in an AS9100 certified facility.
Each belt is hand inspected during the manufacturing process. We use hardware manufactured from
17-4-PH Stainless Steel.
• Full-service interior Plating and engraving.
• Our FAA certified Repair Station YB1R632K is approved for the rewebbing repair of any ABI belt.
• Approved TSO C22g and C114 non-metal end fittings for stretcher use – our MediBelt™ This system is
also approved under the TSO for field replaceable stretcher straps for soiled webbing.
• Airbag Systems in partnership with Aviation Occupant Safety (AOS).
• Specialty V22 Restraint System for the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey aircraft.

Subject: Information Regarding Authorized Repair Facilities
Purpose: This Service Information Letter (SIL) Clarifies Approved Aircraft Belts, Inc. (ABI) Repair Facilities
Reference: 14 CFR Part 43 § 43.13 (b) “Performance Standards (general)”
1. BACKGROUND
Aircraft Belts, Inc (ABI) has become aware of several repair facilities that are repairing ABI restraints. These facilities are not authorized
by ABI and do not have authorized technical information, procedures, tooling and material specifications. Per 14 CFR Part 43.13, such
unauthorized maintenance and/or repair potentially affects the airworthiness of the above mentioned restraint systems manufactured
by Aircraft Belts, Inc.
2. REGULATIONS
In accordance with 14 CFR Part 43.13 (b), restraint repairs must be done in such a manner and use materials of such a quality, that
the condition of the…device (restraint)… worked on will be at least equal to its “original condition with regard to qualities affecting
airworthiness.” If a repaired seat belt is used, it must have been repaired in such a way that assures that the performance of the seat
assembly still meets the regulatory requirements of Part 43; the ABI Repair Station YB1R632K is the only facility approved by the Federal
Aviation Administration to conduct these repairs, and is the only repair station that has approved data from the Design Approval
Holder, ABI for repairs. Any repairs conducted on ABI belts besides the ABI Repair Station are not in compliance with this regulation and
potentially not airworthy.
3. SCOPE
This SIL involves all aircraft restraint users and service facilities. Potentially affected restraint systems will have one of the following
manufacturer’s labels:
Aircraft Belts, Inc., 1176 Telecom Drive, Creedmoor, NC 27522
Aircraft Belts, Inc., 2000 Anders Lane, Kemah, TX 77565
and/or the label of the repair station that performed the repair or re-webbing.

Restraint systems affected by this SIL will bear the label of an unauthorized repair station, i.e. any repair station not listed under the
paragraph “Authorized Repair Station” below.

10. RESTRAINT SYSTEMS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED BY AN UNAUTHORIZED REPAIR STATION

ABI and its Repair Station will repair or modify a restraint system or a subassembly previously repaired by an unauthorized repair
station by returning the system to its original approved design prior to issuing an Authorized Release Certificate, Airworthiness
Approval Tag FAA Form 8130-3.

passenger seats. The lift lever configuration
is a standard in the general and commercial
aviation markets. The ABISS line is made of
stainless steel to prevent rust and corrosion.
