LIMIT
A limit is a number that a function aprproaches as the independent
variable of the function approaches a given value. For the example,
given the function f(x) = 3x, you could say. “The limit of f(x) as x
approaches 2 is 6”. Simbolically, we will more carefully define a limit,
as well as give examples of limits of functions to help clarify the
concept.
In general the function limit can be written with
Lim F(x) = L
(x) = (a)
To determine the value of lim (𝑥 ┬ →𝑎)
〖 〗
𝑓(𝑥) The steps are as follows
the solution:
Check the three conditions:
1.Function value : f (1) = 2.1 – 1 = 1
┬ → 〖 〗
Left limit value : lim (𝑥 1^− ) 2𝑥 −1=1
┬ → 〖 〗
Right limit value : lim (𝑥 1^+ ) 2𝑥 −1=1
┬ → 〖
2. This means that the limit value : lim (𝑥 1) 2𝑥−1=1 〗
┬ → 〖 〗
3. lim (𝑥 1) 2𝑥−1=1=𝑓 (1)
