The submission is in the form of a completed individual portfolio folder, including the tasks set out in the
Assignment Brief. This assignment involves group work but each student should submit an individual
portfolio folder.

Part 1: Training schedule (using project management software) for the 1-day event and a training pack to
include a range of activities, seminars, workshops, team-building activities and break-out sessions.

Part 2: Ten-minute Microsoft® PowerPoint® style presentation with interactive links to suitable sites and
an activity sheet. The presentation slides for the findings should be submitted with speaker notes. You are
required to make effective use of headings, bullet points and subsections as appropriate. Your research
should be referenced using the Harvard referencing system. The recommended word limit is 500 words,
including speaker notes, although you will not be penalised for exceeding the total word limit.
Part 3: A written evaluation of your performance in this task and your contribution to the team. You are
required to make use of headings, paragraphs, subsections and illustrations as appropriate.

Part 4: A report discussing problem-solving techniques.

Note: All work must be supported with research and referenced using the Harvard referencing system. The
recommended word limit is 500–1,000 words, although you will not be penalised for exceeding the total
word limit.

Assignment Brief and Guidance

You have been asked to support your training and development manager with the planning and
implementation of a professional development event targeted at internal employees within the
organisation that you work in.

The training event is scheduled over a one-day period in your centre, and will include four 1-hour sessions.
The centre requires a schedule of the types of activities proposed so that plans can be finalised. In
addition, any guest speakers or motivational coaches will also require a minimum of three weeks’ notice
for all bookings.

You have also been asked to design and deliver a workshop as part your training. The event will be based
on marketing the college courses. (This could be a foundation year, the HND etc.)

Working in small groups (3–4 per group). You have to produce an agenda for the event and activities in
the event. You will meet to discuss the event. This exercise will enable you to demonstrate the use of
problem solving techniques. In the meeting, you will discuss the following:

1. Produce a professional schedule (simple time management techniques) for the development of the
agenda for the event.

2. The one day event, will have two sessions in the morning and two sessions in the afternoon. Each student
will be responsible for preparing one of these sessions.

3. Each student will prepare a ten minute presentation that will be delivered at the start of the session to
introduce the session. You have to prepare the presentation (slides and notes). You will give a mock
presentation to your group. Each student will complete a questionnaire on your inter personal skills. After
you have all completed your presentation, you will sit around in your group to discuss each of your inter
personal skills.

4. Produce a report evaluating the effectiveness and application of interpersonal skills during the design and
delivery process. You should also include an evaluation of your performance in this project and your
contribution to the team you worked in.

5. Also you need to discuss problem-solving and its importance in planning and running an event. You should
include a discussion of various problem-solving techniques and justify the solution methodologies used
during your project. You should also include a critique of the application of critical reasoning and your
experiences of it.

Introduction
Professional practice is defined as practice that reflects the commitment to care relationships
with patients and families and powerful ethical values; utilization of specialised knowledge,
critical inquiry, and evidence-informed decision making; continuous development of self and
others; accountability and responsibility for insightful competent practice; demonstration of a
spirit of collaboration and adaptability to optimize service.

I. Definition and the importance of communication skill
Communication is the process of exchanging ideas, knowledge between two or more people,
object or person and object, with a desired response related to their goal.
The importance of communication can be calculated from the fact that it is one of the basic
requirements of any job, big or small. Skill in speaking and writing is useful in all areas of
business, such as management, technical, and social positions. [ CITATION com \l 1033 ]
II. Verbal communication
Verbal communication is the use of words to share information and knowledge with others.
Therefore, it can include both oral and written communication. However, many people use the
term to refer to verbal communication only. The verbal element of communication is all the
words you choose, and how they are heard and interpreted.
III. Non-verbal communication
Nonverbal communication is the transfer of information through the use of body language
including eye contact, facial expressions, gestures and more. For example, smiling when you
meet someone conveys friendliness, acceptance, and openness. Everyone uses nonverbal
communication all the time whether they know it or not. Nonverbal communication relies on
seeing and analyzing body movements rather than verbal communication, or using language to
convey information through written, spoken, or sign language.
IV. Communication in my group
In today's covid-19 pandemic, it is very difficult for us to communicate with each other to get the
job done. So we tried really hard to complete the workshop that the topic gave. We have used
online support tools such as Google Docs, Google Meet and others to facilitate communication.

Time management is that the strategy of designing out your available time and
controlling the quantity of your time you spend on specific tasks so as to figure more efficiently.
Effective time management comes easier to some people than to others, but everyone can
develop habits to enhance their time management skills. Without strong time management, your
work and wellbeing can suffer, and it can lead to:
+ Producing poor quality work
+ Missing deadlines
+ Increasing your stress levels
+ Ruining your work-life balance
+ Harming your professional reputation

I. Definition and the importance of problem solving
Problem-solving skills is determine the source of a problem and find an effective solution.
Although problem solving is often identified as its own separate skill, there are other related skills
that contribute to this ability.
Importance of problem solving skills
Obviously, every organization has problems and every individual has problems too. For this
reason, the ability to solve problems is of great importance to individuals and organizations.
Some of the benefits include:

+ Make the impossible possible. Knowledge alone is not the key to solving problems but rather,
complimenting it with systematic problem solving approaches makes the difference. This helps
individuals and organizations overcome perilous challenges.

+ Makes you a stand out. People are trained to do the usual. They have acquired skills and
knowledge in what they do. However, people can hardly solve problems when they are
unexpected or unprecedented ones. If you become a regular problem solver at your workplace,
you are easily noticed, recognized, and appreciated.
+ Increased confidence. No matter where you work or what your profession is, having the ability
to solve problems will boost your confidence level. Because you are sure of your ability to solve
problems, you don’t spend time worrying about what you will do if a problem should arise.

Critical thinking is the ability to think clearly and rationally about what to do or what to believe. It
includes the ability to engage in reflective and independent thinking. Someone with critical
thinking skills is able to do the following : understand the logical connections between ideas.

II. Apply to a given solution
If one or more people comment on the issue or ask questions about it, raise the issue and explain
to them why. Do not reject the opinions of the critics, but accept their opinions to contribute to
the next event.

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
Our team consists of 3 members: leader Le Xuan Hao and 2 team members Duong Dinh Thuan
and Dang Huynh Xuan Khang. The group leader has the function of leading, choosing topics, and
assigning appropriate work. With the leaded of assessor and team leader we succeeded. In the
group presentation, Hao will give a presentation on communication skills, Duong Dinh Thuan will
give a presentation on teamwork skills and I will give a presentation on planning skills. Due to the
limited number of members and time, we have tried to do the above. Hope everyone
sympathized.

CONCLUSION

My work includes parts such as communication skills, time management skills, problem solving
and events that we have prepared.
Through the above lesson, I have come to know that Professional Practice is a subject that is
neither difficult nor easy for our students and there are many more soft skills that students need
to have.

Welcome all of you to today's conference. My name is Xuan Khang from the team "Hao can tat".
Just now, you also heard Hao and Thuan give a presentation on soft skills, which are two of the
skills you need to get a job and graduate. The skill of planning is also one of the important skills in
one's life. "What is planning skill?" is when you list all the things to do on a list, arrange them in
chronological order, importance, urgency to do before or after. "Why plan?" Systematic thinking,
capable of anticipating unexpected situations. Know how to organize, coordinate and properly
use available resources to handle any problem. Be prepared to deal with changes. To make
planning easier, you can refer to the following 7 steps: Step 1. Define your goals
To plan your work quickly, efficiently and successfully, you must first take care of:
+ Why are you doing this job?
+ Role, meaning for your career and company
+ Consequences if you don't do it
Step 2. Determine the content of work
After you have carefully studied the work, you need to clearly present each implementation step
with specific content. You need to answer the questions:
+ How to complete the steps in the work?
+ What relevant documents need to be prepared in advance?
+ What are the deadlines and performance standards?
+ What are the resources (people, equipment, machines) to support the work (if any)?
Step 3. Identify where, when and by whom work is done
* For each issue, you need to answer the following related questions:
- Where?
+ Where is the work done?
+ Delivery at which location?
+ What parts to check?
+ Steps to check?
- Time:
+ When does it start?
+ When to hand over?
+ When does it end?
* To set a deadline, you must know the urgency and importance of each task to choose which to
do first, which to do later.
- There are 4 different types of jobs:
+ Important and urgent work
+ Unimportant but urgent work
+ Hard work but not urgent
+ The work is not important, not urgent
* You should do the important and urgent work first.
- WHO?
+ Who does it?
+ Who checks?
+ Who supports?
+ Who will be responsible?
Step 4. Prioritize the order of work
- You can sort the tasks in order of importance or by time/goal order. This will help you eliminate
unnecessary work, saving time and resources. This is one of the important factors when you
want to practice planning skills.
Step 5. Focus on implementing the plan
- Concentration helps you work efficiently and save time. However, this does not mean that you
only do one thing for a long time. If possible, learn to handle multiple tasks at once during the
day, but complete them in order of priority with specific deadlines.
Step 6. Flexibility in the implementation of the plan
- In fact, many plans become "outdated" with what is going on. What you need to do now is to
take a reasonable time to solve the problems and adjust the plan in time.
- On the other hand, in the planning process, you have to anticipate, list all possible difficulties
and then come up with contingency solutions.
Step 7. Check the implementation of the plan
To know how well you've done your work and whether you've completed your goals on time,
you'll have to constantly check and push yourself to handle everything as planned.
