REACTION PAPER
(Handout 01)

The readings that were implied to this paper is about the Philippine National Security
and its interests, challenges, and the 12-point National Security Agenda which serve serves as a
substantial information for us college students in understanding the importance of how
authorities serve our country in terms of security itself. With this, it discusses that the
employment of economic power, diplomacy, power projection, and political power to ensure the
state's survival is known as national security with its ability to provide for the protection and
defense of its citizens. In addition, the goal of the national security strategy is to ensure the
protection of our country's fundamental and enduring needs for safety. National security is
defined as "a state or condition in which people's welfare, well-being, ways of life; government
and its institutions; territorial integrity; sovereignty; and core values are enhanced and
protected" for the Philippines and the Filipino people.

Its goals and objectives obviously have an equivalent way of challenges that
strengthens the role of the pillars of the said topic. It is indeed an eye-opening situation to me as
I site those situations as keeping the society peaceful is truly a difficult job to do. On the other
hand, the 12-point agendas mentioned in the handout really ensured me being a citizen in living
without the fear of not having a secured governance within the community. In conclusion, this
readings played as a helpful tool to let me understand how policies are implemented in a specific
field to use it also like a common knowledge when it comes in having awareness in the
government.
