Module 5

Activity #1
1.) Learning/Thinking styles are focused on individual’s best way to receive,
understand and process information. These styles consider both the intellectual
capacity and behavior of certain learner in a certain manner. Multiple intelligences
are understood as more than just an IQ test which can be and should be measured
in various ways. Each learner has a unique intellectual potential. In other words,
each learner has his/her own way of processing information. In reality, teacher will
surely have students with different intelligences. Therefore, diverse lesson plans
are necessary in considering these multiple intelligences.
2.) I am more on auditory and I am a linear thinker. I prefer listening to lectures and
instructions and do them step by step. My dominant multiple intelligences are
interpersonal and naturalist.
3.) Learning style: Visual
Multiple intelligence: Spatial Intelligence
Learning activities:
a. Play a matching game that is connected with the lesson plan
b. Use gestures in teaching the learners as body language greatly help them
to easily understand what is being taught.
c. Use colorful pictures that are connected with the lesson, that will teach
and remind the learners of the information (e.g. the topic is about plants
green points to the leaves of certain plants and blue points to the water
they need in order to grow.)
d. Do craft activities. Let the learners participate in activities that involve
forming an object using cut woods or playdough. They should be guided
by the teacher.
e. Do paper-folding activities. Like craft activities, under the supervision
of the teacher, let the learner make various objects from the paper
provided.

Activity #2
1.) I’ve read about concrete-abstract continuum from
https://www.slideshare.net/GlacelFederizo1/concrete-abstract-continuum
2.) Compilation of Teaching Strategies
The following must and should always be connected with what is going to be
taught.
a. Use storytelling and do writing activities.
b. Use word processors.
c. Do logical puzzles.
d. Do group activities for the learners.
e. Give the learners homework.
f. Sing a song in class or play short music.
g. Use hand signals in teaching. (e.g., describing how big is the house)
h. Do a simple magic trick that will catch the learners’ attention to build bridge
for the lesson that is about to be taught.
i. Let the learners do collage-making. (e.g. assign them to gather pictures of
different kinds of plants and compile them in one bond paper using glue)
j. Give the learners assignment that involves memorization.

Activity #3
From the module on Thinking/Learning styles and Multiple intelligences, I
realized that it is both crucial and necessary for a teacher to understand the
thinking/learning styles and multiple in intelligences concerning the uniqueness of the
individual learner. It is quite challenging to make a diverse lesson plan but it is for the
sake of the learners’ best way of learning. Not all students process information in the
same manner so patience is also needed in this aspect. Furthermore, I realized that a
teacher has an important role to build a bridge for the students with different
thinking/learning styles and multiple intelligences to process information in a preferred
way. Thus, though each learner is unique when it comes to processing information, and
though there are different thinking/learning styles and multiple intelligences, the
teacher’s aim will be the same, to educate them with love and consideration.
