Date: 30th March 2020

Details of Student in-charge: Sukanya Nayak (1837)
Details of other Students involved in the team:

Title of the project: Summarize various printing methods since Guttenberg printing press to
today’s modern press

Printing, or the process of reproducing text and images, has a long rich history. It spans
from 3500 BC to present day, and technologies have originated all over the world from
places like Persia, Europe, China and India. Print has evolved enormously across these
ages, in accordance with the technologies and mediums available during those ages.
What started with seals and stamps, now uses complex technologies and digital
innovation to create the printed output. In this document, we will be elaborating about the
various printed methods that existed through the years, how they came into being, what
was the technology used behind, and what it transcended into.

As it can be seen through the journey in our Presentation, printing has evolved
immensely as a field. From the Gutenberg press being able to print just 180 copies,
modern printing technology allow prints runs of hundreds and thousands of copies with
vivid and innovative prints.

In our PowerPoint Presentation, we briefly introduce timeline of the different eras, then
elaborated upon various printing methods from the time of its inception. We finally
introduced our smiling group members and explained the entire process of how we
worked to arrive at our final output, and our different roles and responsibilities.

We were also able to make a fun board game for a perfect afternoon.
We drafted content for our Quiz Game, “Quiz your knowledge and challenge your friends
about the birth and history of print.  In this game, your aim is to follow the journey of
printing technology from the Gutenberg Press to Offset Printing.”, and finalized content
for our booklet, and playing cards.

Although all the team-members contributed in terms of researching and content to

maximize efficiency, Sukanya Nayak (1837) was in-charge of drafting content for this
PPT.
