Level 2 (grade 3)
 Component 10 (iii) MEDIA AND TECHNIQUES: Students will use media and techniques, with
an emphasis on mixing media and perfecting techniques in drawing, painting, print making,
sculpture, fabric arts, photography and technographic arts.
D. Sculpture
- Continue to make two- and three-dimensional assemblages from found materials, reaching for
more sophistication leading to specifics, such as puppets, mobiles, mosaics, papier-mâché.D.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson students will be able to:
1. Construct and decorate a 3-D mug using crayons and markers.
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT
 Paper (2) sheets per student (44)
 Cotton
 Pastels
 Scissors
 Glue gun
PREPARATION AND LOGISTICAL CONSIDERATIONS
 (25) Cups, hot chocolate packets, spoons, and napkins.
 Music: play while working, Disney?

PROCEDURE
Introduction Time
 Today we will be making a hot chocolate mug. We will be creating a mug to
display in our classroom. You will be working with pastels to color your mugs 1 min
and the background.
Body Time
Topic : 1) SHOW a completed mug. Walk through the steps to
Demonstration making a mug, demonstrate each step. 10 min
2) List steps on board
Topic: Group 1) Hand out material 1 hr 30 min
activity: Mugs 2) Assist students their mugs
3) Upon completion hang mugs on display wall
4) Play music while students work

Transition:
Have students clear desk/ working area off
Topic: Hot 1) Pass out cups and napkins
chocolate 2) Serve hot chocolate

3) REMIND students to sip slowly

Conclusion Time
 Thank students for their participation.

Assessment
 Formative: Students will display their creativity and understanding of sculpturing and
drawing using crayons and markers.
