Breadwinner songs

By Charles
The first song
Freedom
By Pharell Williams
This was one of the songs that when heard was something that just fit to the situation. It's a short but simple song
that shows a good message to have your eyes on moving forward. The message it shows is something that gives you
a feel like that freedom is in your grasps. It reminds when Parvana is leaving Kabul and adventurous future that lies
ahead. The name meets its lyrics like when Parvana “We have to remember this,” Parvana said. “When things get better and
we grow up, we have to remember that there was a day when we were kids when we stood in a graveyard and dug up bones to sell
so that our families could eat.”
― Deborah Ellis, Breadwinner She can see her freedom, she has a plan in mind, and she can see the future to leave. There Is the
one moment where he says cause you still believe In everyone it reminds of the hope, she has for everything. This reminds of
when time was hard, so they had to do not fun jobs. Freedom is a one many words that describe Parvana she is a
devoted character in the book. That she would things to help with a future beyond just herself, she is a person who
is far from selfish.
Here Comes the sun by Beatles
This song makes me feel of the last moment of the story when she goes into
Mount Parvana it starts to shine in the light. Little darling, I feel that ice is
slowly melting Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear. The
theme of the book which I think is hope the sun represents hope. This song
shows what it means to believe in someone. The lyrics also go along well with
the name this is the reason I chose two songs from the Beatles. All songs have
some reason to exist this gives you good feels to have those inspiring
moments in the book.
Good Vibrations by
beach boys
• The relationship between Parvana and Shauzia Close my eyes, she's somehow closer now
Softly smile, I know she must be kind, When I look in her eyes, She's giving me the
excitations. This makes me think of when they are together you can feel a good
friendship but when I think of good and friendship the Beach Boys come to my head.
Then for songs this classic comes to mind the lyrics fit along with the feel comparing to
Shauzia and Parvana. It makes me you feel the song is part of the book in some of the
moments. Friendship that is loyal, trustable, and reliable is what makes it a good
relationship. This song makes you feel those rewarding friendship moments.
Let it be by Beatles
This song was about Parvana struggle to let it go. In the book she was
struggling to let her father her go internally. It was hard for her, so
she stayed behind to watch for her dad. Parvana cannot get over the
fact that her father may not be alive or get out of prison. She is
willing to stay behind to wait for unguaranteed hope that her father
will come back. The song is about to just let and to let it be which
would mean she wouldn't see her father. Now she will have to find
her family again and Shazia has left. It will be uncertain this internal
conflict makes Parvana think and she knows to let it be as shown at
the end of the book.
Big City Life by Mattafix
Finally last on the list a song that makes me think of a Big City. The
setting a city full of kind people who have been under some tough
times. The people that appear in the book always show some
kindness toward Parvana except for one. The Taliban that didn't have
a huge part like in the book showed tears. The movies showed many
different parts with the Talib it showed different perspective. The
book and move showed lots of good chapters, scenes, along with the
small messages that weren't clear.
The songs with the most meaning
I had a reason for choosing all my songs that I chose they meant something in a way you can feel. This not my
opinion on the songs for breadwinner may be true or not. This project made me think a lot the book to
intrigue me.
