Government of Pakistan To Replace Free Books With E-Readers in Schools
Government of Pakistan To Replace Free Books With E-Readers in Schools
Implementation:
• Govt. can collaborate with local mobile manufacturing industries to develop a robust
and economical device because an E-Reader will just have to display books along other
basic features. It may not even require a camera.
• Provide every student an E-Reader with a special educational sim card in it. For this
govt. can collaborate with telecom companies. Doing this, every student can have
access to books and other available literature. And cost for an E-Reader has been
estimated to be 3000 PKR while an average bag pack costs more than this now.
• Keep the syllabus UpToDate and same all over the country. Leaving the old syllabus
behind that had “floppy discs” and “what is a mouse?” type topics.
• Encourage the publishing companies to participate in this program
Economic Advantages:
Feasibility: Most of the high school students already agree that the digital books applied on
their smart phone are necessity for today which they may access anywhere and anytime with
ease. Besides, the product also proves that digital material is more motivating, engaging, and
fun than the conventional one. Thus, E-Readers can have more good than harm.
