1. Knife or cutter (1).
2. Ruler (1).
3. Bottle 1,5 liter (1).
4. Celery (Apium graveolens L.) with fresh leaf (2).
5. Food coloring.
6. Water.
C. Procedures
1. Prepare the necessary tools and materials. Make sure to do the practicum in a safe
place.
2. Cut the bottle as high as 15 cm, then fill it with water as high as 5 cm.
3. Add enough food coloring to the bottle so that the water is colored.
4. Cut crosswise the bottom of the celery stalk (Apium graveolens L.) using a knife or
cutter.
5. Put the two celery (Apium graveolens L.) which have been cut into a bottle filled with
coloring food solution.
6. Observe and take a note any changes that occur in celery stalks (Apium graveolens L.)
every 3 hours. Make sure time is continuously recorded.
7. Remove one of celery stalk (Apium graveolens L.) from the bottle after 12 hours.
8. Observe and take a note the appearance of the celery stalks (Apium graveolens L.) on
the outside.
9. Cut the celery stalk (Apium graveolens L.) using knife or cutter crosswise. Then take
the lower, middle, and top parts of celery stalk (Apium graveolens L.) with a size of
2,5 cm. observe and take a note the apppearnance.
10. Leave the celery stalks (Apium graveolens L.) remaining for 24 hours. Then observe
the outer part of the celery stalk (Apium graveolens L.) which is still in the bottle.
11. Repeat step in number 9.
