I. Identifying Information

Title of the Activity/Service : Virtual KUMU: A Psycho-Social and Mental Health Kumustahan
Actual Area & Number of Participants : ACS, APJ, OLA, OLG, SFP, SJC, SRL- 171 Sponsored Children & Youth
Members

Actual Month/Date of Implementation : November 20, 2021

II. Implementation Results/Outputs

Our event started by filling out the attendance sheet of our participants- service scholars and youth sponsored
members from 8:00-8:30 AM. While waiting for others to join the meeting, we played music and inspirational videos that
are connected to our topic and upon reaching 100 participants at 8:30 AM, the event has started by taking first a photo op.
The moderator dictated the basic netiquettes and reminders to be observed during the event and followed by playing the
prepared video for opening prayer and national anthem. Next, the moderator introduces our Sub. Project coordinator-
Ma’am Maria Theresa Jesalva for her opening remarks. However, due to power interruption and loss of internet
connectivity, Ma’am Mariz could not be delivered her opening message that’s why she asked one of our service scholars
Joshua Camasis from OLA- Guinabatan to read her prepared opening message. After that, the moderator introduces our
ALBS Sub. Project representative Erickson Hernan to state the objectives of our program, and Eroll L. Millena to introduce
the resource speaker Mr. Darryl A. Pagpagitan CPA. At exactly 8:45 AM, the discussion or answering of questions of our
participants has started. The question came from the consolidated data from our google forms that were sent to our
participants before the event. Our event runs smoothly where our resource speaker answers and gives clarification to their
questions. Participants are very active during the events by sending their thoughts, ideas, and suggestions in our Jitsi Meet
comment box. When they ask permission to turn on their microphone to speak, the moderator always acknowledges it to
give them a chance to further clarify their questions or to share something. Sometimes the resource speaker loses his
internet connection; nonetheless, it does not affect the duration of the meeting. After the discussion, the moderator
played AVP which tackles the stigma surrounding mental health, and everyone was asked to turn on their microphone to
speak the phrase “ I am worthy, I am loved, I am enough“. Then, proceed to the awarding of certificates to the resource
speaker and participants. Eroll L. Millena chairperson under Social Services gave his closing remarks where he emphasizes
that helps is accessible, eliminates the stigma on mental illness, and no one should suffer alone. Finally, proceeds to the
closing prayer by playing an AVP and photo op for documentation purposes.

III. Challenges or Problems Encountered

The challenges or problems encountered before the implementation of the activity were looking for a resource
speaker but two days before the event, Mr. Darryl Pagpagitan accepted our invitation. Furthermore, since we already
anticipated that platforms such as google meet and zoom cannot accommodate larger participants, we use Jitsi Meet as
our platform. We had a dry run before the event to master and utilize the features of this platform. However, one of the
major problems we encountered was the unstable internet connectivity of the resource speaker and the participants
however, it does not affect the duration of the event rather it’s a success.

D. Learning Insights of Participants
First and foremost, I would like to thank Unbound for this opportunity to be part of this virtual activity. Throughout the
discussion, I gained so much learning about the topic which I will forever remember. Given the fact that I myself experienced some
of the tackled mental health issues, in one way or another it motivated me to function and be optimistic in life. In spite of different
challenges every student is currently facing, this activity enlightens me to always look after my mental health. Being aware of your
overall health is essential so that you can detect any symptoms and seek professional help when necessary.

In addition, raising mental health awareness can help us understand our symptoms, find professional treatment, and,
perhaps most importantly, break the mental health stigma that leaves so many people suffering in secret. Many people who have
mental health conditions aren’t sure how to cope with their symptoms and resort to unhealthy coping mechanisms to push away
their emotional discomfort. We must always put in mind that our feelings and emotions are valid.

Moreover, mental health awareness doesn’t just help me as a person. Knowing more about mental health disorders and
how to deal with it will probably also help my family members, friends, and anyone I know.
ACS- Jessa Mae Himor

I've been able to know what it's like to have anxiety, and what also needs to be done to prevent it.And I understand it even
more because Darryl has answered the questions well and others who have attended this program.I'm happy to have finished that
program because I've got an idea or knowledge that I can 'share with my family or my friends.
OLG- Danica Loduvice

OLG- Juztine Viter

I realized that everyone is experiencing anxiety and feeling of depress. And Most of us didn't get emotional support
towards someone that is why it's a good thing that they conduct those kind of event to encourage us to convey our thoughts and
deep emotions towards ourselves. It'll make us feel better and overcome our negative thoughts although it cannot be avoidable, at
least we've learn to lessen ourselves from overthinking.
ACS- Reyjan Dicen

My take ways on the Virtual KUMU: A Psycho-Social and Mental Health KUMUstahan is to always have a positive mindset
and never let my own fear drag me down. Just be yourself, love yourself, trust yourself and try to find something worth it for your all
efforts in life, communication is the most important as well, because if you show vulnerability with other person, maybe that's not a
sign of weakness, it is one way to help us to establish trust, connection with other people and it build a strong relationships not just
on your own family but to all the people around us.
APJ- Aileen Joy Nocomora

What I have learned about the topic yesterday is mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-
being. It affects how we think, feel, and act.It also helps determine how we handle anxiety, depression by distracting yourself ,avoid
having a negative thoughts.
APJ-Maica Moradillo

What I understood in our meeting was that we should not be trampled on by people, that we should not underestimate a
person even if he does not know. Let's only help if we don't know because we all don't know in the beginning. thank you very much.
APJ-Marie Jezzavel Obiasca

The event yesterday made me realize a lot of things and gives me realizations in life.Dahil don natutunan kong mag share
In fact, it's a huge help to learn new things by accepting thoughts and opinions from others.
OLG- Alyana Andes

So, the things I learned in virtual kumu: A Psycho-Social and Mental Health Kamustahan is that we should love ourself
because when you judge yourself, you reject yourself. You give yourself the message that “I don’t like you as you are, and I’ll only
like you if you change.” This will always be a moving target we can never live up to. Instead, we must love ourselves as we are in this
current moment. I believe that self-love, self-acceptance. Radical acceptance of everything you are. Everything you have been
through, both good and bad. Acceptance and love of your flaws, mistakes, imperfections, and shortcomings. Acceptance of your
past. Acceptance of the things you want to change. I believe that we must practice unconditional love with ourselves. We can hold
our flaws in loving embrace. Look at them from the perspective of understanding, compassion, gratitude, and forgiveness.
OLG- Rachel Nosares

You are never truly alone in your struggles. Sometimes it's takes hell to realize that being yourself is enough. Support each other
and no one will be alone in whatever are going through. Someone is always there for youu and someone has probably been in your
situation before and can relate to.
OLA- Abegail Osera

You don’t have to be positive all the time. It’s perfectly okay to feel sad, angry, annoyed, frustrated, scared and anxious.
Having feelings doesn’t make you a negative person. It makes you human.
OLA - Tysheene Mae Repolona

Believe in yourself. You may not be able to do those things now but time will come, the perfect moment will eventually
come to you. You can't see your own talent, but others can. Compare only with yourself. Don't stop and eventually you will find the
right avenue for you.
OLA - Romell Baria

nagpapasalamat parin ako dahil siguradong marami ang natulungan nitong unbound beneficiaries kaya thank you scholars for
inciating that program and salamat sa unbound na pinayagan itong gawin.
OLG- Heini Jhozane Llaneta

It is a wonderful for me, Why? It's because of many things that happens, and it's really makes my Sunday completed. I
consider myself as a lucky person because I am the one chosen to attend this kind of mentorship. If I were given another chance, I
will be glad to attend another one. A huge thanks for Darryl A. Papagitan for answering the questions sent by some of the
participants he gave us time just to share his personal experiences that I'm sure gives inspiration to others, make them realized that
although life is full of struggles, we must fight, never give up and we must be brave at all times. Never be afraid to fight our own
problems in life it's just like a game we need to level up. As we are leveling high, we are facing much hindrances rather than the
lower level. So, for us to be able to win all the levels in life we must focus on the present. Looking back is good but as we stay in
what happenings on the past, we are also the one putting ourselves in difficulties. As a human being we are really grateful to have
common senses, it's a blessings from God we need to use it responsible. We are all different from others that’s why the word
"RESPECT" was discovered we tend to have it and use it not just for ourselves but also for the sake of others. For me there is no
reason for everyone to have a social issues when they are responsible enough and always put respect for themselves and for the
other human being. As a student I am part of the society where there are many different kinds of people living. That's why I learned
and always practice my good moral that is especially showing respect for others.
One of the topics there is being open for others, lend a helping hand and be always nice not just for those who had mental
illness but also for the persons who are physically, emotionally and mentally healthy. We should encourage each and every one to
be more careful than before. It's because nowadays most of the people living on Earth had develop mental illness. Some of them
are doing self-diagnosis rather than consulting a real doctor who can help them to overcome it. Treatments for those who are like
me that is suffering anxiety and bipolar are always not easy we need more patience and be treated as a good one because we are
still part of the society. Other mental illnesses are much acute rather than mine they are committing suicide when they can't
handle it anymore. Most of the people suffering these kind of illness are the people who are seeking for help, love, care and
attention of others because they are always find the stress factors all around them that's why they are searching for stress relief. I
believe that the best stress reliever is to talking on someone who is reliable. The one you can lean on, not the one you will be feels
hurt or disappointed.
Each of us deserves to be treat right we are all humans we are created by Almighty God and there is no one created to be
not good. We are all God's creation, but we are unique in different aspects but don't forget that each of differences there is one
similarity that will lead us to be united. To be good as one for all for one and be all inhaling positivity and neglecting negativity. We
are all blessed that's why we deserve love. We are humans that's why it's all natural to feels different emotions we are gifted that's
why. Don't be ashamed or afraid if your skin is not too good it's part of your being unique. We are all God's creation that's why we
deserve respect. Each of us have this and I strongly believed that respect was starting as a self-respect. When we treat ourselves as
a respectable one the others will notice that you really deserve it. Eventually they will be able putting respect to you and the others
around the world. We deserve self-care; we must take care of ourselves don't you worry because loving ourselves first before
entering any relationships are really a good step. Let anyone leave you and don't feel sad because being alone sometimes are good.
There will be chances that you will be discover yourself as a really good human being rather than wasting your time being there for
them. It's okay not to be okay but make sure you'll find happiness later.
We deserve honesty, each of us should always be honest to others. There is a saying honesty is the best policy and it really
happens in real life. Being honest at all times is really great it feels like you don't need to put another effort just to be the best one,
but you are nearly being much better. As a human being and part of the society I deserve the best. To be treated equally, I didn't
deserve to be treated like I didn't matter. I am part of it that's why my presence matters. There are human rights that proves that
each of us matters in the society. We deserve to be noticed and be one in a million of persons who are really better. We can be
perfect and it's a matter of choice. We can be the best just as we being careful about our choices and always put a plan before doing
such things. We can be it so we can do it. Just try and try it's free to try a new discovery for ourselves. We must find not just one's
but thrice for us to succeed. I didn't deserve to be hurt, even by myself. I am important that's why I am fragile I need to handle with
too much care it is not only applicable to me but also to others that's why from now on be more careful in treating each other be
more responsible on what are the things we say. Each of it matters and it depends on the mood how we interpret it. For me the best
way to cope is to embrace the situation and accept the fact of now and the past is now remain as past. We should accept the fact
that it’s now part of our lives and it would help us to become q better person. We can overcome each hindrances we should believe
we can, and we are half-way there.
