What is a self-directed learner?

The individual's acquisition of information and experiences independently of any


educational institution, as this process is considered a conscious activity that
stems from the conviction and internal motives of the learner urging him to
improve and develop his personality, through the learner's practice of a set of
educational activities alone from purposeful sources, so that he develops an
educational plan commensurate with his speed Learning, its inclinations, and
tendencies.

What are the essential aspects of self-directed learning?


A. Reach, negotiation, and time management.
B. Willingness and aptitude for the learning process lie in the person's motivation
to learn.
C. Exploiting all available conditions in the learner's environment to the fullest
extent to contribute to achieving his goals.
D. Discipline and regularity in the learning plan.

What are your two biggest strengths as a student? How will these strengths
help you become a self-directed learner?
A. Time management and organization skills according to the required tasks.
B. Personal motivation in receiving further education in the appropriate field.
I care very much about the minute and hour of the day and try to get the
maximum benefit from it and not waste it. I have a personal motive that makes me
interested in learning to reach a better version of myself.

What are your two biggest weaknesses as a student? How do these affect
your readiness to be a self-directed learner?
A. Immersion and immersion in learning.
B. Lack of experience in how to organize priorities.
As someone with time management skills, I struggle to immerse myself in
learning a subject, which takes longer than specified, although it is a blessing that
sometimes gets me into trouble. I also struggle with the way priorities are
organized due to my lack of experience. For example, I am interested in solving
the discussion and Written Assignment task on the Learning Journal, although the
Learning Journal scores are higher than the two tasks together.

Describe at least three strategies to become a more self-directed learner. How


will you hold yourself accountable for your growth as a learner?
As a student, I have a few strategies to become a more self-directed learner.
A. You must know how to learn. It will make learning and understanding things
more accessible.
B. Know your interests. You will become a self-directed learner when you like
the topic.
C. Do not overthink and do it. Some inexperienced students think and fear a lot.
When they want to start something, they need to make the first move.

I do not have to blame anyone because learning on my own is my responsibility.


Moreover, if you fail or do well, it depends on your time learning. This means that
my actions will determine my outcome. If I take it seriously to achieve a lofty
goal, it will make me more responsible, and by doing that, I can learn a lot.
