This course will provide students a conceptual and theoretical understanding of Public
Administration as a discipline and practice. It will also offer insights about administrative

structure, function and process in Bangladesh, to enable students to have an understanding
about Public Administration and its practice in Bangladesh.

The teaching and learning methods will be a balance of lecture-based inputs with opportunities
for students to engage in a participative manner. A variety of teaching and learning methods will
be used, which will include formal lectures, group based discussions and exercises, videos, case

Upon completion of this course the student should be able to:
 Understand the theoretical models and approaches of Public Administration and how
public sector operates in an increasingly globalised world.

GRADING PROCEDURE

There will be one Mid-Term exam and Quizzes based on the class lectures; notes and required
reading. The students will also have to make Class Presentations on selected topics. The Mid-
term exam will include short questions. The Final Exam will include short as well as broad
questions. The University authority will decide the date of Final Examination.
