TECHNOLOGY FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING 1

REACTION PAPER FOR REPORT NO. 6: “Non-Digital or Conventional Technology Tools

for Teaching and Learning”

Discussant: Venus Erandio

In this lesson we learned about examples of Instructional Materials that are used by
teachers in teaching, about how does each instructional material can help the students to learn
about what does the teacher wanted to imply/to say and its essence on helping the students
on coping up with the lesson easily.

Using creative instructional materials is necessary especially when you are teaching in
primary school because it catches the attention of the learners when they see that your
instructional materials was colorful and fun to watch. We also discussed the use of ICT tools
for teaching and learning, how to use it properly, when to use ICT tools for teaching and
learning and the different kinds of ICT tools that can be used in teaching and learning. We also
include in our discussion all those infographics that can be an aid in learning and teaching at
school in presenting some sort of information or report. According to the discussant one of the
best examples for keeping the work of every student are the following: 1. Flip cart this large
tablet or pad, usually on a tripod or stand set up instructional materials is important in the
classroom environment as it allows both students and teachers to have a meaningful and
creative discussion. During unexpected blackouts teachers who uses ppt in their instructions
can switch to this kind of instructional material. 2. Wall display Wall display is important for the
students as well as teachers to be able to access visible information's form students’ progress
and other data. also, this can be a great way to showcase student’s creative works. 3.
Chalkboard The very traditional instructional materials that have been used by teachers even
in the early birth of education. for me if we consider teachers who are ICT powered this can be
a great back-up for them to continue teaching even without the use of media and electronic
instructional materials. 4. Diorama This kind of non-conventional materials is important
because it allows the students to show their imaginative and creative ideas to put into a visible
and physical model of something. 5. NATURE TABLE. it allows the student to think and to use
their perceptions regardless of what season they are experiencing and seasons the haven't
seen in their life.

To conclude, Instructional materials such as this Non-Digital or Conventional

Technology Tools are essential since they help the teacher and learners avoid overemphasis
on recitation and rote learning that can easily dominate a lesson. Resource materials allow

Instructional Materials are the tools used in educational lessons which includes active learning
and assessment. Basically, any resources a teacher uses to help him teach his students is an
instructional material. It is important because they can significantly increase student
achievement by supporting student learning.

Everyone seems to think that if a modern technology such as computer is involved, it must be
better. It’s a fact because we are living in the digital world and teaching in a 21 st century will
always be challenging. But we must also reflect to the importance of Non-Digital Instructional
Materials even in the digital world.

Basics are essential and students must also learn how to write, read and spell, all without help
from a computer.
