Transmission Package Manager – South Korea

Our client is a highly regarded and experienced provider of project development, construction and
operational management services within the offshore wind industry. They currently hold an
impressive portfolio which services some of the largest offshore wind farms globally.

They are looking for an experienced and ambitious Transmission Package Manager to join them on a
full-time, permanent basis in South Korea on an expatriate basis.

Position Purpose
• To lead a project team and deliver the Transmission Asset for the windfarm throughout
development, design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases.
• The scope of the Transmission Asset will cover all aspects of the offshore and onshore
transmission components and activities.

Major Accountabilities
• Lead and develop the transmission team to become high performing and well-integrated with
the wider team. The leadership accountability comprises direct reporting lines from
project/package managers, responsible for the individual teams and sub-scopes, such as :

o Onshore substations
o Onshore and offshore cables
o Offshore transportation, installation and logistics
o SCADA, protection and communication systems

• Ensure an integrated transmission delivery in accordance with agreed baselines for time, cost
and quality.
• Ensure strong focus on creating a safe working environment for in/external people involved in
site- and construction activities. Plan and communicate proactively for the prevention of
accidents
• Report project status on key KPIs and risks, and ensure focus on agreed priorities
• Take part in the broader EPC leadership group, and work across boundaries to deliver the entire
offshore wind farm project as a team.

Specific Position Requirements

• The preferred candidate is expected to hold an Engineering degree, or similar.

Function
• As this is a leadership role, with an expectation to be able to work robustly and independently a
minimum of 15+ year of relevant industry experience is preferred

Relationships
• Demonstrable team leadership experience of direct reports, leader of leaders together with a
complex stakeholder map, is required.
• Ability to quickly form and maintain relationships with various stakeholders is a critical factor to
become successful in the role.
• The preferred candidate is also expected to have a large network in the industry.

Critical Knowledge
• The preferred candidate is expected to have experience from a large Transmission infra
structure project execution

Market and Environment


• Understanding of electrical transmission industry, e.g. HV substations, HV cables, grid
connection regulation and supply market
• On the edge knowledge about industry trends, cost- and time benchmarks for construction
works and general market information
• Understanding the challenges and opportunities related to offshore wind technology in a new
market

Company Specific
• Experience from working in large, complex multi-disciplinary infrastructure project. The
preferred candidate could have experience from a utility, consultancy or a contractor.

Technical and/or Professional Qualifications/Skills Required


• Strong PM toolbox and ability to apply it consistently
• A leader in managing safety and high potential construction activities
• Excellent oral- and writing communication skills with an ability to convey complex information
in a simple an effective manner.
• Strong business case understanding and ability to identify and manage commercial risks and
opportunities
