 INTRODUCTION
🠶 Clap Switch is a basic electronic mini project
m a d e with the help of the basic components.
🠶 Clap Switch has the ability to turn ON/OFF any
electrical component to circuit by the clap
sound.
🠶 It is known as clap switch b e caus e the
c o nd enser microp ho ne w hic h w ill b e use d in this
project will h a v e a n ability to as the clap sound
as the input.

electrical energy b ecaus e w e are giving a n
input to the circuit as a sound.
🠶 Basic idea on C l a p Switch is that the electric
microphone pick u p the sound of your claps,
co u gh s or any other sound to switch ON/OFF
the circuit.
🠶 The circuit is able to convert the sound energy
to activate the circuit a n d led provide electrical
energy as a n output in the form of heat a n d
light.
🠶 We will use basic C l a p Switch circuit diagram
tha t is IC 555 Timers.

HARDWARE IMPLEMENTATION
1 . G R O U N D – 0v supply.
2.TRIGGER – When the pin voltage falls below 0.33
Vcc, the timer is triggered a n d the output goes
high in the monostable configuration a high to
the trigger pin starts the timer.
3. OUTPUT – The Output pulses during astable
operation a n d goes high for a set time in
monostable operation.
4.RESET – If reset is no t use d c o nnect it to Vcc. If
reset falls a high out will b e forced low.
1.CONTROL VOLTAGE – For reliable operation a d d
a10nf capacitor to ground on this pin.
2.THRESHOLD Detects when the voltage on the
timing capacitor rises a b o v e 0.66 V c c a n d reset
the output when this happens.
3.DISCHARGE – Provides a discharge path from
the timing capacitor to ground when the output
is lo w.
4 . V C C - Positive power supply voltage.

 WORKING
🠶 This circ u it is ma d e w ith the help o f so und
activated sensor, which senses the sound of
clap as input a n d process it to the circuit in
order to give the output. When sound is given as
the input to the electric Condenser Mic, it is
c h a n g e into the electrical energy as the LED
turns on. LED turns ON, as w e give sound input
a n d it turns off automatically after a few
seconds. Turns on LED timer c a n b e c h a n g e d by
varying the value of 100mf capacitor as it is
connected with 555 timer whose main purpose
is to g e n era te the p ulse.

compulsorily for working
🠶 Unless w e use a filter in the circ u it, it is no t tha t
advantageous.
🠶 So that circuit activates only for C l a p of
particular frequencies a n d then it b e co me s
accurate.
 APPLICATION
🠶 Clap Switch is generally used for a light,
television, radio or similar electronic device that
the p erso n w ill w a nt to turn O N /O FF fro m b e d .
🠶 This circuit functions on using the sound energy
p ro vid e d b y the cla p sw itc h is c o nverte d into
electrical energy by Condenser microphone.
🠶 Using this converted electrical energy which is
used to turn on relay ( a n electrical switch).

needed.
