NRHS Newsletter Issue #4
Jokes & Riddles Edition
Let’s Laugh…
Welcome to our fourth edition of the
NRHS newsletter. We know many are
taking a break from school, so we will keep
this issue light and fun. It’s all about jokes
and riddles for the month of January! We
always feature Artwork of The Month,
which for this month was anything silly or
funny to our students (or the, ahem, editor
of the newsletter aka – a mom.) We also
regularly feature a monthly schedule, a
Talks and Assignments section, an About
Me, and a Monthly Activity or Puzzle. As of
this issue we will now feature: This Month
in History! mini column. Students are
welcome to volunteer for any of these
projects, as well as any that are special to
each newsletter. And remember, be sure to
print and include every newsletter in your
yearly homeschool binder. We want to
thank our students for what they send in!
And to all the families, students, and friends
who are reading this –We appreciate you.
Giggles, Laughter, Chuckles, Guffaw…
Scripture of the month: “A joyful
heart is good medicine,” - Proverbs (Oh no, I am being chased by a Thesaurus!)
17:22a
There are so many words for laughter!
Even in the Bible there are multiple
mentions of being joyful, rejoicing,
laughing, festivals, and dancing. Think
about it, Jehovah is the original Creator
of laughter and having fun, it literally all
comes from Him. And did you know,
the Bible even mentions a riddle?
Samson once told one to the Philistines.
Riddles are in fact, an important part of
history. They served as an important part
of life, education, and entertainment.
The oldest known riddle is written in clay
from Mesopotamia. So, let’s explore
some jokes and riddles and have some
laughs!
