SPECIPEN (SPECIMEN PEN)

Medical devices are a vital part of healthcare systems, and the services they can
give are growing as they are necessary for preventing, diagnosing, treating, and
rehabilitating illnesses and diseases in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. The
number of patients that medical technologists must assist on a regular basis makes
it difficult for them to manage their busy schedules, so we came up with a device
that would be beneficial in the medical industry, the Specipen. Numerous patients
complain that their test results take too much time to arrive so this apparatus will
help assist in obtaining the immediate outcome that the patient needs in a timely
and safe approach.

Intended Function:

It is a device that can help diagnose disease in any bodily fluid, including blood, urine,
stools, CSF, and such, then the computer reads the molecular signature to provide a
diagnosis whether the specimen presented has an illness.
Outline of the Process:

 The medical technologist will still collect the essential bodily fluids in the usual
manner
 The specimen will be placed on a slide
 The device will be pointed at the specimen
 It will identify whether the body fluids are normal or pathologic.
 The result will be recorded and printed by the computer connected to the
device.

Required devices to be connected

BIOSENSOR
It is a device used to detect the presence or concentration of a
Sensors
biological analyte, such as a biomolecule, a biological structure, or a
microorganism.

Actuators Micro and Nano Actuators

Can enable sensors to detect very small amounts of chemical vapors
also a portable and sensitive detector of chemical and biological
agents, useful for point-of-care testing of patients. The sensors can be
electronically gated to respond to the binding of a single molecule of a
nucleic acid or protein.
 Local Area Networks (LAN)
A local area network (LAN) is a network infrastructure that covers a
limited geographic location. LANs interconnect end devices in a
Intermediate particular area such as hospitals among other features. It is used so
devices that results or any findings from the specipen will be recorded directly
among the interconnected devices such as computers, tablets inside
the hospitals. The information and details from the specipen will be
collected and arranged and anyone who is authorized to access those
are the only ones who can view and review it.

Wi-Fi is ideal when we want to set up a quick connection between our
devices. Wi-Fi is designed around the goal of keeping its power
consumption limited, so you can run your project on a dedicated
battery as well. A device that is hospital network friendly which may
connect to a computer that may access the patient record.
