गुणोत्तर (RATIO)

दोन सजातीय राशींची (same kind) तुलनात्मक पट काढून केलेली तुलना म्हणजेच गुणोत्तर॰

अनिल व अशोक यांची आजची वये अनुक्रमे 15 व 18 वर्षे असतील तर अनिलच्या वयाचे
ु ोत्तर 15/18 असे म्हणतात किंवा 15/18= 5/6 (संक्षिप्त रूप)
अशोकच्या वयाशी असलेले गण
असे लिहितात॰

ु ोत्तर a/b किंवा a:b असे लिहितात॰

a व b या दोन संख्यामधील गण

b व a या दोन संख्यामधील गुणोत्तर b/a किंवा b:a असे लिहितात॰

गुणोत्तर काढण्यासाठी परिमाण एक असणे आवश्यक आहे ॰

प्रमाण (Proportion)

ज्या दोन गुणोत्तरांची अतिसंक्षिप्त रुपे समान असतात त्याना समान गुणोत्तरे म्हणतात व दोन
गण
ु ोत्तरांच्या समानतेलाच प्रमाण असे म्हणतात॰ a/b आणि c/d ही दोन गण
ु ोत्तरे समान
असतील तर a,b,c & d या संख्या प्रमाणात आहे त असे म्हणतात॰

जेंव्हा चार संख्या प्रमाणात असतात तें व्हा

अंत्यपदांचा गुणाकार = मध्यमपदांचा गुणाकार

a/b = c/d असेल तर ad=bc

जेंव्हा तीन संख्या a, b & c प्रमाणात असतात तें व्हा a/b=b/c किंवा b = ac
