Q.1. The overall dining experience ratings (O: outstanding, V:verygood, G:good, A:average, or
P:poor) of 30 randomly selected points at Paradise on a one evening are given below: [4]

O O V O G G O O G V O V O V G
V O O V O V V O O V G A V O O
(a) Find the frequency distribution and relative frequency distribution for these data
(b) Construct a percentage bar chart for these data
(c) Construct a percentage pie chart for these data

Q.2. Consider the following data: [5]

36 46 40 38 39 40 38 38 36 42 33 34 35 34 37
37 36 41 22 17 20 36 33 25 19 42 28 30 36 38
(a) Develop frequency distribution after finding number of classes, class width
(b) Draw histogram

Q.3. The WILP students were surveyed to find out details about different credit cards they have.
Total number of students surveyed were 1000. The following details were identified: 250
students have SBI card, 400 students have HDFC card and 100 students have both. Construct
a contingency table and find the probability that a randomly selected student [6]
(a) Has SBI card
(b) Has HDFC card
(c) Has a SBI card or a HDFC card
(d) Has neither credit card
(e) Has exactly one of the two credit cards

Q.4. Based on sample of 176 workers, it was estimated that the mean amount of paid time lost
during a three-month period was 1.4 days per employee with a standard deviation of 1.3
days. It was also estimated that the mean amount of unpaid time lost during a three-month
period was 1 day per employee with a standard deviation of 1.8 days. We randomly select a
sample of 100 workers, [6]
(a) What is the probability that the average amount of paid time lost during a 3-month period
for the 100 workers will exceed 1.5 days?
(b) What is the probability that the average amount of unpaid time lost during 3-month
period for the 100 workers will exceed 1.5 days?
(c) Suppose we randomly select a sample of 100 workers, and the sample mean amount of
unpaid time lost during a 3-month period exceed 1.5 days. Would it be reasonable to
conclude that the mean amount of unpaid time lost has increased above the previously
estimated 1 day? Explain.

Q.5. Sixty percent of all customers who enter brand factory will not make a purchase. Suppose
that 10 customers enter the store and that these customers make independent purchase
decisions, what is the probability that [4]
(a) exactly six customers make a purchase
(b) at least three customers make a purchase
(c) fewer than two customers make a purchase
(d) exactly four customers don’t make a purchase

(b) Compute the necessary values and draw box-plot
(c) What can you say about the data distribution?
