CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Yes. The corporation that we choose, P&G (Procter & Gamble) is involved with the Corporate

Social Responsibilities. The P&G focus on two areas for their social responsibility programming

that is comforts of home and health and hygiene.

First area is comfort of home. P&G providing everyday essentials that help create the experience

of home for families who cannot afford them or who have been displaced. In these areas there

are a few programs that represent some of P&G’s effort.

First program is disaster relief. When it comes to a widespread disaster P&G will anchored in

product donations. They commitment to support victims after widespread disasters is a natural

expression of our Purpose to improve lives. There is a lot of brand in the P&G that can meet the

basic need that the people need to experience comfort of home. P&G has responded to disaster in

India, Guatemala, United States, Canada, Germany, Australia and the Philippines.

Second program is Habitat for Humanity International. In this program, P&G has been partners

with Habitat for Humanity to provide decent, safe, and affordable place to live for families in

need. They have sponsored home for 12 countries around the world. Over 3000 employees have

committed to help build and clean homes, and P&G is providing product donations to first-time

homeowners.

Third program is involving SOS children’s village. They are the world’s largest charity dedicated

to orphaned and abandoned children. In this program P&G supports them to have the benefit of a

stable, loving family environment that includes health and hygiene education and the necessity of

life and home.

Last program under comfort of home is Downy Touch of Comfort. In the United States, Downy

as one of the brand in P&G has partnered with Quilts for kids to help create and deliver

homemade quilts to comfort hospitalized children. In this program, quilts will help provide a

comfort of home to children who may be spending their first night away from home in a hospital.

Since the program’s inception, Downy has provided over 20,000 quilts to hospitalized children.

Second areas are health and hygiene. In this area P&G has supporting hygiene education and

everyday healthy behavior changes that prevent illness and improve confidence. Same like

comfort for home, health and hygiene also have a few programs to show the effort of P&G.

First, P&G Children’s Safe Drinking Water Program (CSDW). This program helps nearly one

billion people in the developing world who do not have access to clean drinking water.

Potentially deadly water is turned into clean, drinkable water is through P&G Purifier of Water

packets. Each packets treats 10 liters of dirty water and they are portable and can used anywhere

in the world including areas affected by natural disaster.

Next program is Pampers UNICEF Vaccination Program. Pampers has collaborated with

UNICEF already helped eliminate maternal neonatal tetanus (MNT) in ten countries. Pampers’

funding has helped to protect 100 million women and babies against MNT and they are

committed to support UNICEF in their effort to eliminate MNT.

Wella Making Waves is one of the programs in the health and hygiene. In this program Wella one

of the P&G brand had partnering with UNICEF, since the launch of WELLA-UNICEF Making

Waves in 2010, the project has helped more than 7,000 vulnerable young people realize their

potential and make a sustainable living in Brazil and Romania.

Lastly, Pantene Beautiful Lengths program. This program involves a partnership between

Pantene and The American Cancer Society. In this program it allows Pantene to help women

grow and donate long, strong, beautiful hair and to turn this hair into real hair wigs for women

with cancer. The campaign has received more than 480,000 hair donations and more than 28,000

real hair wigs have been provided to female cancer patients for free in the United States and

Canada.
