Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to the Gabrielite family! As your son/ward embarks on his learning in Primary 1, we seek
your support in the following:
1. Mode of Communication
The primary mode of communication is through the school diary. It has proven to be an
effective tool for students to record their homework. Do reply and sign on comments made. If
you wish to inform any teacher know of anything concerning your son/ward, you may also note
it in the diary and ask your son/ward to show it to the respective teacher in the morning.
Please call the school for an appointment before you come as the teacher you would like to
meet may not be available.
2. Absenteeism
On days your son/ward is unable to attend school, you are required to produce his medical
certificate (MC) or write a letter of absence with parental/guardian signature. You may inform
the form teacher or leave a note with the General Office if your son/ward is not attending
school that day and produce the MC or letter of absence when he returns to school.
Homework, notes and classroom work will be handed to him when he returns to school.
Alternatively, you may pick them up from the guard house if his Medical Leave spans over a
few days.

3. Timetable
A copy of the updated timetable will be given to your son/ward.
4. Spelling
The days for spelling and the spelling list will be issued at a later date.
5. Homework
Students are expected to submit their homework the following day. We seek your cooperation
in checking your son’s/ward’s school bag to ensure that his homework is completed and that
he brings the necessary materials for the next day’s timetable.
6. PE Attire
On days when there are Physical and Health Education (PHE) lessons, students are required
to wear their PE attire which consists of their House colour T-shirts and the PE shorts. They
are allowed to wear this attire throughout the day only on days when they have PHE lessons.
If your son/ward is unable to participate in the PHE lessons, an excuse letter written by the
parent/guardian or a photocopy of the medical letter should be submitted.
We look forward to working with you and helping your son/ward progress in his studies as well as
grow in character.
Yours sincerely,
