The Colorado Alliance for Environmental Education
Who We Are:
Since 1989, the Colorado Alliance for Environmental
Education (CAEE), a 501(c)3 nonprofit, has been
supporting the many types of educators who teach
concepts we all need to understand: how natural
systems work, what we must do to interact responsibly
with our environment and how we can protect natural
resources for future generations.

We believe, together we can do more.

Over 800 members are working to bring environmental
education to the many different places where people learn.
Some environmental educators are in formal learning settings, like schools and
universities, or settings designed for environmental education, like outdoor classrooms
or schools. Some are in places where people encounter nature: parks, zoos, beaches,
aquariums, or nature centers.  Some are in places that support hands-on, practical
experience: laboratories, summer camps, after school programs, museums – and even
boardrooms. Environmental education is happening in every subject from early
childhood to seniors.

CAEE offers our sponsors unique opportunities to participate at varying financial levels.
You will be able to choose a category that provides specially tailored benefits and
incentives while supporting educators across Colorado.

Natural Resource Career Initiative

Engaging the Next Generation of Natural Resource Stewards
With increasing numbers of children not spending time outdoors in nature; local, state and federal
natural resource agencies are having difficulty recruiting employees who have the necessary skills,
experience, education, and emotional connection to the outdoors to take over the management of
public lands. Simultaneously, agencies need candidates that represent the changing demographics of
the state.

Led by CAEE and the Colorado Youth Corps Association, the Natural Resource Careers Initiative aims
to work collaboratively to create more resources and path-ways to enable ALL young adults to be
educated, prepared, and qualified to enter and maintain professional, sustainable natural resource
careers.

Matching Gifts to Build Capacity for Environmental

Education
Grow Support on Colorado Gives Day

The Colorado Alliance for Environmental Education is rallying

businesses and supporters to “give where they live…and work” for
Colorado Gives Day in December. Matching gifts can help catalyze
giving and grow support. CAEE will also be supporting environmental
education organizations who do not have the capacity to complete
the profile requirements by hosting fund-raising pages and serving as
the fiscal agent to allow them to participate.

Donations will help build capacity for environmental education in

Colorado and support the work of over 800 educators who in turn
serve over 800,000 Coloradans. Your support will enable us to reach
more donors and engage more support for environmental education.
