INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

G12 students have difficulty when it comes to accounting so our research title can help

alleviate the problems of accounting students. many students fail in accounting due to a lack of

technique the student needs to study accounting techniques so that they will not have difficulty

when they come to college. it needs to be researched to find out where students have difficulty

when it comes to accounting and to know how they will use the techniques.

There are different specialized subjects in Senior Highschool that focus on a particular

field of knowledge. Fundamentals of Accountancy and Business and Management is one of the

specialized subjects under the academic career track, ABM (Accountancy, Business, and

Management). This subject is one of the most difficult subjects in Senior High School and the

major subject in ABM. Learning professional subjects in accounting is not like reading a novel,

memorizing, or even lust mastering the accounting terms (Mercado et al., 2016).

The main focus of this study is about, why ABM students have difficulty in learning this

subject and what are the techniques or ways they use to learn easily. The researchers decided to

conduct the study because some grade 12 ABM students find it hard to understand the lessons

and also some are struggling to use worksheet, and some did not understand the
accounting cycle, also to know what is the relationship between their studying technique and

their academic performance in the subject Fundamentals of Accounting, Business and

Management. Financial statements, which are critical in making economic decisions for a

corporation, but also challenging for students to comprehend because they are still battling to

grasp basic principles of accounting. As ABM students, the researchers' goal is to know and

discover arrays of diverse problems that ABM students face earlier so that solutions may be

given to the students as an aid in facing the different challenges that an ABM student must

encounter.
Statement of the Problem

This study will be direct towards its main objective to determine the Academic

Performance of Grade 12 ABM in the Course Subject Fundamentals of Accounting Business and

Management in STI College Rosario.

Specifically, the researchers seek the answer to the following question:

1. What is the student's academic performance grade in Fundamentals of Accounting

Business and Management?

2. What are the studying techniques of Grade 12 ABM in STI College Rosario?

3. Is there a significant difference in the studying technique to the academic performance of

Grade 12 ABM when grouped according to demographic profile?


Objectives of the Study

The study aims to help the students who have been struggling to understand the

Fundamentals of Accounting Business and Management and the relationship of Studying

technique to the Academic Performance of Grade 12 ABM in accounting.

Specifically, it aims to determine the following:

1. To determine where the G12 student has difficulty when it comes to

accounting.

2. To identify the struggle of the ABM student.

3. To assess whether the study has helped to reduce the student's problem when it

comes to accounting.
Importance of the Study

This study will be benefitted to the following:

Students – this study is important for ABM students especially for those students who have

difficulty in learning FABM (Fundamentals of Accountancy Business and Management). This

will also aim to know what are the effective techniques or ways that ABM students can use.

Parents – this research can assess parents in guiding their children and won't have difficulty to

advise in their children’s studies.

School – this study will help the school especially the FABM teachers to know their student's

needs and make an efficient and effective plan for the students.
Time and Place of the Study

The Relationship Between the Studying Technique to the Academic Performance of

Grade 12 ABM in the Course Subject Fundamentals of Accounting Business and Management

was conducting study throughout the school year. The estimated time to finish this study is year

within the year 2022 within the STI College virtual class.

Scope and Limitation

The study conducted primarily for the purpose of identifying The Relationship Between

the Studying Technique to the Academic Performance and the hindrance of Grade 12 ABM in

the Course Subject Fundamentals of Accounting Business and Management.

The respondent of this study is the Grade 12 Students ABM of STI College Rosario.
