2. HAZARDS FOR WORKERS AND ENVIRONMENT


 Flammable liquid and vapour
 Causes serious eye damage.
 Causes skin and respiratory irritation.
 Maybe fatal if swallowed and enters airways.
 May cause drowsiness or dizziness.
 Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effect.
3. PREVENTIVE MEASURES AND HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS
Use PPE when using the substance. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open
flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Use explosion-proof electrical,
ventilating, lighting and material handling equipment. Use only non-sparking tools. Avoid
inhalation of dust, particulates, spray or mist. Do not eat, drink or smoke in areas where
the material is handled, stored or processed.
4. EMERGENCY PROCEDURE
Accidental Release
Stop leak if without risk. Move containers from spill area. Use spark proof tools and
explosion-proof equipment. Dilute with water and mop if water soluble. Alternatively if
water-insoluble, absorb with an inert dry material and place in appropriate waste disposal
container and dispose of via licensed waste disposal contractor. Avoid dispersal of spilt
material and runoff and contact with soil, waterways, drains and sewers.
Fire-fighting Measures
Use foam, water spray, dry powder, CO2 as extinguishing media. Never use water jet.
5. FIRST AID
Inhalation
Remove to fresh air. Keep person warm and at rest. If not breathing, if breathing is
irregular or if respiratory arrest occurs, provide artificial respiration or oxygen by trained
personnel.
Eye Contact
Hold the eyelids apart. Irrigate copiously with clean, fresh water for at least 15 mins.
Seek medical advice if symptoms persist.
Skin Contact
Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Wash skin thoroughly with water or use
recognized skin cleanser. Do use solvents or thinners.
Ingestion
If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show the container or label. Do not
induce vomiting. Keep person warm and at rest.
6. DISPOSAL
Do not allow to enter drains or watercourses. Material and container must be disposed of
as hazardous waste.
