3.- How the exams will be

3.1.- “Content’s part exam”

The exam will contain 2 different parts:

• “Phrasal verbs part” (40%): This will be extract from the units
• “Common Mistakes exercises” (60%): This part will contain exercises about the grammar and
vocabulary we have done related to the book.

3.2.- “Cambridge exams part”

We will make an average for each term that will include all the notes you have gotten related to the
FCE/CAE Cambridge Exams that you did during that evaluation.

3.3.- “Extra activities part”

This part It’s divided in three other parts and for each one we will evaluate it differently.
• “Reading part”: When we finish reading the book, we will devote some time for preparing an
oral exposition with your teacher related to the book and the PIOExL 5 Themes.
• “Listening part”: We will calculate the note of this part with two different tasks:
• Part 1: Consist on making an essay2 (500-700 words) summarizing the main aspects of the
movie related to the PIOExL 5 Themes. (40%)
• Part 2: Consist on a dialogue with the teacher explaining the essay and answering the
questions that the teacher ask you about the movie or series. (60%)
• In the case of the series, we will do each part once for each season and the global mark will
be the average of each season’s exam (P.1 + P.2).
• “Speaking”: This part consists on a “Cambridge Speaking part”. The global mark of the term
will be calculated by an average that includes all the “speakings full parts” that you did during
that evaluation.

2 An essay is generally a short piece of writing outlining the writer's perspective or story.
In the case of this subject the essay must contain: A sum up of the series/film + A personal,
subjective comment related to the PIOExL 5 Themes + A global commentary about the main plot
and what do you like about it, including what do you dislike (we will dedicate a class for explaining
the Essay and other types of texts).
