Matt reviews* the topics for his exam.

*To “review” is to check on something you did before.

Instructions: Read the text below.

Matt: Victor, I really appreciate that you help me review the topics for the exam.
Victor: No problem, Matt. What is the topic you need to study?
Matt: I need to know the definition of tourists and types of travelers.
Victor: OK! Pay attention to this summary I have. Tourists are people who travel and
stay in different places for a period of time and for different purposes, for
example, leisure or business.
Matt: I understand. And, what are the types of travelers?
Victor: There are two groups of travelers: the first group is for tourists. Here are
tourists who stay one night or more; and excursionists, who don't sleep in the
place they visit. The second group is for other travelers as commuters, cruise
crews, migrants, and temporary workers.
Matt: What are the differences?
Victor: The nights they spend in their destination. International and domestic travelers
spend more than one night in the visited country. An example of these is a
business traveler whose purposes are business, visiting friends, or pleasure.
Matt: What about other travelers?
Victor: They travel because they need to study or work in another city as students or
temporary workers, or maybe they are moving to another city to live as
migrants.
Matt: It's clear now. I only have one more question. What are tourists with special
needs?
Victor: OK. Let me give you an example. For an airline, tourists with special needs
include VIPs, senior travelers, children, disabled, or pregnant travelers. VIPs
have benefits in departure and arrival procedures. For the senior travelers,
airlines give them special care with food or assistance; besides, children obtain
toys or special meals. Disabled get wheelchairs, or they can bring their guide
dogs. Finally, pregnant travelers and infant travelers are accepted without any
problem.
Matt: Thanks, Victor. I am ready for the exam.

The first group is the tourist group. They are the ones who stay either more than 24
hours or more than one night in the visited country. While they travel, they can do other
types of activities, for example dining out, recreation, sight-seeing, and shopping. The
second group is excursionists; they spend less than 24 hours in their destination. The
third group consists of commuters, local travelers, students, migrants, and
temporary workers. Their purpose of traveling is to study or work in a town near their
residence or to move to a new city.
