Types of Tourists.
There are three main groups of travelers.
The first group is the tourist group. They are the ones who stay either more than 24
hours or more than one night in the visited country. While they travel, they can do other
types of activities, for example dining out, recreation, sight-seeing, and shopping. The
second group is excursionists; they spend less than 24 hours in their destination. The
third group consists of commuters, local travelers, students, migrants, and
temporary workers. Their purpose of traveling is to study or work in a town near their
residence or to move to a new city.
Examples
• There are two groups of travelers: the first group is for tourists. Here are tourists
who stay one night or more; and excursionists, who don't sleep in the place they
visit.
• The second group is for other travelers as commuters, cruise crews, migrants, and
temporary workers.
