INTRODUCTION:

As a learner you often battle for what you think is truth. Nowadays, many
information arises as we interact with our friends and all folks of life to get
information. Understand that not all information may be helpful in your pursuit
of whatever career. It can be very misleading. Your reasoning ability must be
attuned in the light of logical principles. Have the guts to confront all lies never
mind those whom you will be hurt for once an adage quotes, we recall “truth
hurts.” Do not compromise truth with lies even in the exchange of money. In
this learning activity sheet you’ll embark into the realm of truth and why is it
important in any facets of life? Let’s go and ponder!

Deepening:

Many philosophers try to grasp what is the idea of truth especially in differentiating opinion
from truth. For instance, Rene Descartes to arrive at truth he believes on the process of
methodic doubt where at some point the more we doubt at something, the closer we get to
something true. For him when we extract truth through doubting, he assumes that not only
false can be extracted and proven but also the truth eventually comes out indubitably from a
person. We can now obviously see if the statement of the person has indeed truth values or
simply saying otherwise.

When man wonders he seeks to better understand everything that exists and this too is
another determining factor at knowing something. For instance, your parents give a thousand
peso as your allowance for a week. You will notice your parents doubt you on how you spend
the given money allowance. To a point that they keep on repeating asking you over and over
again to the extent you are already impatient to the manner they ask you. Remember your
parents are doubting on your way of spending your allowance yet, know also they simply
wanted to know the truth how you spend the money. By doubting you they are able to know
the truth.
