A. Kata ganti orang (Personal pronouns)

1. Kata ganti orang dipakai sebagai subjek/ pokok kalimat (I, you, he, She, They, We, It)
a. Sebelumto be (am, is, are/ was, were)
Ex: I am a student
b. Sebelum verb (kata kerja)
Ex: He forgets to bring a book

2. Sebagai objek (me, you, him, her, them, us, it)

a. Sesudah to be
Ex: It’s me that you need
b. Sesudahverb (kata kerja)

c. Sesudah preposition (kata depan)

Ex: He sent a letter tome
d. Sesudah kata let:
Ex: Let’s go = Letus go.
e. Sesudah kata of, jikasebelum kata of bukan kata benda:
Ex: I dream ofher
f. Bila ada tanda seru:
Ex: Fancy him dying so young; and him only fifteen!
g. Jika tidak ada kata kerja ataupun to be:

B. Kata ganti kepunyaan (Possessive pronouns)

1. Sebagai kata sifat. (my, your, his, her, their, our, its)

Ex: This is mybook

2. Sebagai kata ganti(mine, yours, his, hers, theirs, ours)

a. Bila kata ganti itu dipisahkan dari kata bendanya olehto be
Ex: This book is mine
b. Bila kata bendanya dimengerti
Ex: Your horse and mine (= my horse) are both tired.
