She is also Hades

When Demeter went to go get Persephone and found
that she was not there, she was very sad and mad. She
then went everywhere trying to look for her daughter.
She even disguised herself as and aged old lady, and
she met with Helios who told her that Hades dragged
Persephone into the underworld. After she found out
what happened she begged her brother Hades to let
Persephone go. And eventually he let her stay on earth
for six months and spend the rest of the year in the
underworld. But before she left, Hades gave
Persephone four seeds which means she would always
have to go back to him no matter what. And after all of
this she fell in love with him as he did with her in the
beginning.
