USST Colleges is envisioned as a center of excellence in trade, business, arts, science and technology education in the region and in the
Philippines.
College Mission
To turn out vocationally, technically and scientifically trained graduates who will be economically productive, self-sufficient, effective,
responsible and disciplined citizens of the Philippines.
To provide professional, scientific, technological, technical and vocational instruction and training in trade, business, arts, sciences and
technology and other areas of education in order to meet the manpower needs of business and industries in the region and in the Philippines.

Department Vision
The USST General Education Department favour interdisciplinary thoughts created from individual ideas that are carefully selected from
a wide range of academic disciplines, traditiona and cultural beliefs. Accordingly, these variables have been woven into a utilitarian foundation
that supports the students in their studies and their ongoing quest for knowledge,skills and development.
Department Mission
The USST General Education Department provides a broad-based fundamental and liberal education experience that nurture lifelong
acquisition and informed citizenship. The Program inclined students for a levelheaded participation in the society that consider the issues of
humane living and responsible action in local, national, and global communities.
Department Goals
To provide the students a quality education as to establish a rich and diverse portfolio of both academic and extra-curricular programs
that reinforces inter-disciplinary learning, enhances learners' life skills and competitiveness and fosters community-based experiences.
Department Objectives:
The specific objectives that the department strives to achieve are articulated as follows:
1. To create a learning environment that stimulates intellectual curiosity, fosters values of civic life, and promotes personal growth and
development.
2. To contribute to the on-going efforts of other schools in terms of creating a learner-centric academic activities and programs.
3. To collaborate with other entities and departments within the university to foster a culture that is geared towards a rewarding educational
institution experience and increasing learners' retention.
4. To prepare learners to be enlightened, well-educated citizens who can take systematic and scientific approaches to solving problems,
communicate effectively, reason cogently, and think critically and logically.
5. To prepare learners to become active online learners with broad understanding to the concepts and approaches of e-learning.
6. To provide an environment in which learners are able to experience the benefits of moving beyond the knowledge boundaries of a single
discipline and explore cross and interdisciplinary connections, and cross-cultural contexts.

Layunin ng Programa:
Nakatuon ang Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Filipino sa pagbibigay ng akademiko at klinikal na paghahanda bilang
maging mahusay na guro sa sekundaryang edukasyon gamit ang mga angkop na kurso sa general education, professional education, at
field study/practice teaching.
Inaasahang ang mga graduweyt ng programang ito ay:
1. maging mahusay na guro sa sekundaryang edukasyon na may katatasan at kahusayan sa paggamit ng Wikang Filipino.
2. makatulong sa intelektuwalisyon at pagpapaunlad ng Wikang Filipino sa iba’t ibang larangan.
3. maipamalas ang pagkilala sa sariling identidad, lipunan, at kultura.
4. makatugon sa bisyon at misyon ng institusyon sa pagbuo ng mga mag-aaral na makatutulong sa pagbabago ng lipunan para sa
Diyos at sa bansa.
DESKRIPSYON NG KURSO
Tinatalakay sa kursong ito ang palatunugan, palabuuan, at palaugnayan ng Wikang Filipino. Kasama rito ang wastong paggamit ng salita at
pagpapatalakay sa ortograpiya ng Wikang Filipino. Nakapaloob dito ang mabusising pag-aaral ng Wikang Filipino na may pokus sa bahagi
ng pananalita at istruktura ng
wika at maikling simulain sa pagsasalin para mabisang paggamit ng wika.
LAYUNIN NG KURSO
Sa pagtatapos ng kurso, inaasahang ang mga mag-aaral ay:
1. malaman ang istruktura at nilalaman ng Wikang Filipino.
2. maging mahusay sa paggamit at paglalapat ng gramatika ayon sa diskurso.
3. maging mapanuri at mahusay na komyunikeytor.
napahahalagahan ang paggamit ng Wikang Filipino bilang paghahanda sa pagtuturo.
