JOB ADVERT – PROJECT ENGINEER

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

North Mara Gold Mine Limited is seeking to recruit a Project Engineer to join North Mara
team. Project Engineer is a full-time position responsible for engineering and technical disciplines
needed to complete a project. The successful candidate for this position will effectively manage all
the activities specified within the position profile at North Mara Gold Mine Limited:
This is a permanent role, with work roster being Forty two (42) days on day shift and Twenty
one (21) days off shift.

The Project Engineer will report to Projects Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Ensuring all tasks or activities are executed and aligned with safety standard operating
procedures and safe work instructions at all times
 Analyzing project specifications, developing work schedules, and delegating tasks to
different teams
 Ensuring that each project stays within the allocated budget and timeframe
 Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning
personnel to phases and elements
 Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and
resolving problems
 Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and
trends and recommending actions
 Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards
and specifications
 Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, contractor’s
performance) and report regularly on project status
 Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project stake
holders to provide assistance and technical support

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
 Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
 Project management experience is recommended
 Proficient with MS Office & MS Project
 Valid Driving License
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
 Must have a minimum of 5 (Five) years worked as Project Engineer on Construction
Projects
 Must have experience with Steel Fabrication and Erection works, Equipment Installation
and Commissioning works

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

 Superior interpersonal and demonstrated facilitation skills, including the ability to motivate
and influence others, build effective interpersonal relationships
 Strong organizational, analytical, and writing skills, to include solid experience in writing
functional and technical specifications.
 Excellent communication skills
 Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills
 Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
 The ability to motivate staff
 A positive attitude and willingness to work overtime if required
 Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
