Sukoon

Sukoon help
 Sukoon
• The Sukoon sign )‫ (ﹿ‬is like a help sign therefore
the letter with a sukoon sign is ‘carried’ by the
preceding letter.

ََ‫ا م‬
• In a child’s words:
Aa (Alif with Fathah becomes hamzah) and Ma
go to park for swinging!

They were swinging higher and higher. Suddenly Ma fell down!

Meem fell down. Its cap of fathah got damaged. It became Sukoon cap.
It is as if Meem is telling that I need sukoon (rest) because I am hurt.

So, َ‫( ا‬HAMZAH) comes down and helps Meem. The pair now becomes ‘am.

• Every letter that has sukoon sign will be helped

• Hamzah Fathah Ba Sukun’ab,
• We don’t need to spell for every case. Just look at
the signs and say it.
