Cloud Storage Engineer - Suwanee, GA

Optomi, in partnership with a national leader for data center and cloud services, is seeking a (EMC) Cloud
Storage Engineer for their Suwanee, GA location. The Cloud Storage Engineer will be customer focused
and team oriented with a broad-based knowledge, experience, and hands-on skill installing and managing
fibre channel (FC & iSCSI) SAN storage arrays, FC SAN switches, replication and performing SAN client
installations in a leading data center environment.  Successful candidates must have a solid understanding
of standard major operating systems, applications, and networking. Proven ability to analyze and perform
problem resolution with an emphasis on customer satisfaction. Advanced skills in understanding a
customer’s requirements, identify deficiencies and potential opportunities, and develop innovative solutions
for customers. Ability to analyze hardware and software tools and develop products and managed services
for data center customers.

 5+ years of EMC Storage Experience

 5+ years of storage, systems and infrastructure engineering experience
 Industry Certifications for EMC, VMware and/or Cisco are a big plus

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 Support design, operation, work flow and issue resolution for the Storage infrastructure
 Installation/Deprovision of Storage for customers
 Support sales and work with Customers to design storage solutions within the managed service
toolset
 Problem analysis and resolution of storage support issues working with Help Desk Ticket System
 Participate in functional test planning and testing for the assigned functional area(s) or project(s)
 Participate in problem solving and troubleshooting for the assigned task(s), functional area(s) or
project(s)
 Develop and maintain storage documentation, procedures, SOPs, and reporting
 Provide weekly status reports on individual projects and tasks
 Perform maintenance for Storage infrastructure
 Review new technologies and participate in product development
 Share knowledge by effectively documenting work
 Install, configure, setup and maintain FC and iSCSI storage arrays and storage related hardware
and software in a managed services environment
 Installation and configuration of storage hosts
 Problem analysis and resolution of storage support issues working with Help Desk Ticket System
 Ability to work with customers and maintain a professional attitude and provide exceptional
customer service
 Participate in on-call rotation of 24x7 support and be flexible in availability as needed
  Perform internal training of storage services
 Travel as required to support remotes site, estimated to be less than 10%

Experience Qualifications/ Competencies:

 Experience with EMC Clariion Storage, IBM DS Storage

 Experience with EMC VMAX Storage
 Experience with SAN FC and iSCSI Storage
 Experience with SAN FC switching and zoning, prefer Brocade and Cisco
 Ability to learn and apply new technology and methodologies in a distributed environment
 Ability to solve problems quickly and completely
 Experience with Disaster Recovery tools and applications
 Experience and solid understanding of major operating systems and local area networking
 Experience with VMWare and/or HyperV a plus
 Strong communication and teamwork skills
 Strong technical problem solving skills
 Strong customer relations skills
 Experience with documenting work and processes
 Experience with EMC SRM and VIPR a plus
