Course Title : Transformational Leadership and Innovations
Course Description : This course aims to equip students with understanding, implementing, and evaluating strategic leadership practices based on various theories, models and
approaches for achieving organizational transformation. It also provides an in-depth review and analysis of the theories and processes of change in societies,
cultures and organizations with particular emphasis on change within the educational system. Students will be given opportunities to discover themselves and
their values about leading, following and studying human dynamics relating to change and innovations in order to create a proposal for a leadership-
development program or educational leadership model appropriate for the 21 st century.

Credit Units : 3
Course Outcome : At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
1. Express a personal philosophy of leadership set within the context of education
2. Describe the impact of transformational leadership, strategy and governance in an organization
3. Understand the strengths and weaknesses of different leadership styles as exhibited by transformational leaders past and present
4. Explain and criticize classic and contemporary leadership theories that have been applied in educational institution
5. Identify qualities of leadership and examine why trait-based leadership theories are shifting toward research-based best practices
6. Appreciate the different leadership theories/models through extracting positive effects in education and creating/improvising them that will serve as their
model/basis on their action plan paper/design
7. Create a personal leadership vision
8. Become adept at assessing leadership traits and qualities in ourselves and others
9. Design, construct, and present a proposed educational model appropriate for the 21 st century
Course Requirements : Oral presentation , SWOT analysis of existing educational requirements which would result in a proposed educational leadership model, reflection paper
