A: I personally get paid a good salary as a second engineer and now I am married and own
my property. EMTI S.C. also has arranged me to get a good loan from Zemen Bank
which is a good opportunity for investment on property.

culture and appreciating the crew when the given job or task is completed or for their role
on teamwork.”

ADVICE TO THOSE STILL TO COMPLETE THE COURSE

I personally strongly recommended that the upcoming MEML candidates be well prepared
before they come to attend the course. If they are onboard or at home, they are to study
well to ensure clearing the written and oral exams. Psychologically they are to be well
MEML Course 1 Participants prepared for the next higher ranks as a second or chief engineer.

posed on you from the current situation.

INBETWEEN BOARDINGS

As a whole, Seafarers are blessed to be in a line of
work that still has the opportunity to go out and make
a living. Given the large percentage of careers who
have lost their means to make a living, we remain
blessed and humbled by the opportunities that we still
have amongst us. Nevertheless, delays and
reschedules have become the norm in the shipping
industry as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We
therefore ask our seafaring community to stay patient
while waiting for a boarding or off signing. It is
indeed frustrating, but we are strong and equipped to
pass the storm.

WE ARE HIRING!

want to give back to the Seafaring community and ongoing education and advancement of post-
college opportunities. EMTI is actively seeking Seafarers to assist in teaching courses during their
periods at home with an opportunity for permanent teaching faculty in the future.
