Comparing Two Dependent Samples

Directions:

1. Follow the procedure/steps in the hypothesis testing, analysis and

interpretation of data.

2. Use 0.05 level of significance.

3. Based from your random sample in the previous learning activity 4 of

hypothesis testing perform the following:

a. Test the hypothesis that there is no significant difference between the self-

performance and peer-performance of the employees in the maintenance
department.

1. Ho: μx- μy = 0
Ha: μx- μy ≠ 0

2. α = 0.05, n = 15

3. Test Statistics: t-Test: (dependent samples)

4. Critical Region: Reject Ho if |t| > 2.1447867

5. T Stat: 0.9583727

6. Decision: Since |t| < 2.0009954, therefore accept the null hypothesis and
conclude that the self- performance and peer performance of the employees in
the maintenance department are not significantly different.

b. Test the hypothesis that there is no significant difference between peer-

performance and the supervisor performance.

employees are not significantly different.

c. Test the hypothesis that there is no significant difference between the self-
performance of and the supervisor performance.
