A Brief on How the Chiller works

From the diagram above, the refrigerant flows through the Compressor,
this raises the pressure of the refrigerant. Next the refrigerant and the
compressor lubricating oil flows through the Separator, here the
refrigerant and oil are separated. The oil is recovered back to the
compressor for re-usage through bottom while the refrigerant is recovered
through the top of the separator and flows to the Condenser, where it
condenses from vapor form to liquid, form given off heat in the process.
The heat given off is what makes the condenser ‘‘hot to the touch.’’ From
the condenser, the refrigerant goes through the Expansion valve, where
it experiences a pressure drop. Finally, the refrigerant goes to the
Evaporator. The refrigerant draws heat from the region to be cooled. The
vaporized refrigerant goes back to the compressor to restart the cycle. The
Chilled water produced are taken to the Storage Tank where they
distributed to service point (needed areas) through the storage Tank
Pumps A/B. See further diagrams below.
