Introduction
This document describes the process for external Suppliers that are registered within Covisint and the steps
necessary for gaining access to Global Direct Material Purchasing System (GDiMPS). The key areas include:
• High level overview of GDiMPS access for Suppliers, the Site codes and “GDIMPS RFQ Responder
Role”
• Security administrator assigning GDiMPS access to users within their supplier company
• Covisint registered supply power user (suppliers) a requesting access to GDiMPS application

GDiMPS High level overview – For Covisint registered Supplier users
Access to GDiMPS is enabled using Covisint. Suppliers that are onboarded by Covisint and have a valid GM
SupplyPower package can request access to GDiMPS application. GDiMPS Supplier users will have the ability to
respond to GM RFQs by:
• Declining/Undeclining
• Downloading Part Breakdown Excel/XML
• Uploading Part Breakdown XML
• Viewing Part Breakdown details
• Downloading Prototype Excel/XML
• Uploading Prototype XML
• Viewing Prototype details
• Attaching supporting documentation
• Viewing supporting documentation
• Releasing responses to GM
• Withdrawing/Unwithdrawing
Note: GM employees and GM sponsored contractors should not access GDIMPS using Covisint, Supply-Power.

Access to Covisint - General Information
The supplier should have a valid Covisint registration and access to the GM-SupplyPower package.

Covisint and GM systems.

How to View – Supplier’s organization’s Administrators within Covisint.
The supplier should have a valid Covisint registration and access to the GM-SupplyPower package.

Supplier Administrators providing required level of access to – GDiMPS
users.
There are two ways to provide access to GDiMPS application for suppliers. The Supplier administrators can
assign the required level of permissions to the supplier users within their organization. The following section
describes the required steps by the supplier’s security admins (SA’s) to be able to assign the GDiMPS
application package and with site-codes and or role.

Note: If no role is selected, the supplier user will not be able to access the application.
In the event no role is selected the below alert will be displayed. Select cancel to return
and assign the role.

Covisint registered suppliers – Request GDiMPS package and SA. Approval
Covisint registered supplier users with a valid account and access to the GM supply power package can request
access to the GDiMPS package. The request will be routed to their security administrators for approval. The
security administrators have the option of approving the necessary site/location codes for the requested
package.

Access the Application From the home, select the Collaborate menu optionand then select
page Applications.

Select the GDiMPS From the home, select the applications tab. Change the filter to Not-registered
application and select the pencil-icon next to the Global Direct Material Purchasing
System (GDiMPS) option to start the request.

Select the view request and review the request for appropriate site code(s).
Select submit decision and confirm the approval.

Assign the role An approval confirmation message will be displayed to the Security
Administrator to grant the role/authority to the supplier user.

Click the select check box if the user is allowed to update RFQs in GDiMPS. If not
selected, there will be a confirmation alert and the user will be able to view data
only within the GDiMPS application.

Press submit decision to submit approval or cancel to cancel the request.

This concludes the SA’s steps to approve a supplier user’s request within their
organization for access to GDiMPS.

Verify Access to GDiMPS user (Covisint registered supplier)
This section describes the steps required by Supplier users to verify the access to GDIMPS application, the
approved list of Location/Manufacturing/Site-Codes and the Role

Note: selecting the recycle-bin would remove access. Selecting the number
sign would display the approved list of site codes.

Selecting the application name would show the following screen:

The view service roles option will display rfqresponder if the user has update
access to GDiMPS. It will show a blank if the user has read only access
Supplier users can review, remove or request for site codes associated with their
company’s Ultimate Duns using the view current site codes, request site codes
or remove site codes.

Note: If a supplier user has verified they have the GDiMPS package, the required site codes, a service role and
still can’t access GDiMPS application and or receive an authorization denied error, then a Covisint ticket (help
desk) will need to be opened to sync the Profile.

Verify Access to GDiMPS as a SA (Security Administrator).
This section describes the process to export users that are associated with GDIMPS group.

Note: If a SA has verified the user within their company has the GDiMPS package, required site codes and
rfqresponder service role (authority: with or without GDiMPS updater) but still can’t access GDiMPS or
receives an authorization denied error, open a (help desk) ticket with Covisint to sync the Profile between
Covisint and GM systems.

How to change Site-codes and/or GDiMPS-Updater Role to Read-only (View)
This section describes the process to export users associated with GDiMPS group.

For GDiMPS, an

will be present. If a GDIMPS user does not have the “Global Direct Material Purchasing System”
role they will be unable to access the application.

Covisint service desk would be able to assist with any further support related items associated with how to
request a package, add/remove site codes, changes (add/remove) service roles. Listed below is the link to the

SITE CODES A supplier’s DUNS locations (manufacturing, ship-from, delivery, remit, sched to, etc.)
associated with their Ultimate DUNS

D&B Dun&Bradstreet; the source for DUNS

DUNS The Data Universal Numbering System, abbreviated as DUNS or D-U-N-S, is a


proprietary system developed and regulated by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) that assigns a
unique, nine-digit numeric identifier, referred to as a "DUNS number" to a single
business entity site.
