Process guide to complete your

KYC under Provident Fund

Follow the below steps to update your KYC under


PF UAN portal.

Effective from 1st June 2021, Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) under section
142 of the Code of Social Security 2020 has made linking of your Aadhaar with UAN (Universal
Account Number) as mandatory. If your Aadhaar is not liked with UAN PF amount cannot be
remitted.
By completing this process you can avail online services such as nomination, PF transfer,
raising withdrawal request, view Interest Credits etc.,

Follow the simple steps to complete your KYC.

Steps to update your Aadhaar under Provident fund UAN portal.
Step - 1

 Login to https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/
With your UAN and Password and enter the Captcha to log in to the portal.

Step – 2
 Click on Manage >> and select KYC

Step – 3
 Select Aadhaar and update your Aadhaar number in place of Document Number and
name as per Aadhaar in place of Name as per document and save.

 Click on Save. Status will appear as KYC Pending for Approval from Employer.

In case your name as per Aadhaar does not match with your name in
UAN follow the below steps to update your change in
Name/Gender/Date of Birth.

 Click on Manage >>> Basic Details >>>

 Enter your Aadhaar Number / Name / DOB and Gender you want to update in the UAN
as per Aadhaar on the right side and click on update.

 In case your Date of Birth difference is more than a year, it is mandatory to upload
Birth Certificate or SSLC marks card under Basic details. Any other documents
uploaded will lead to rejection.
 Your request will now be pending for approval with Employer. For employer approval
follow the below process:

 Upload the scanned copy of Aadhaar (both front and back) in PDF format and file size
should not exceed 1MB in the below link.

 If e-Aadhaar is password protected, please unprotect it, scan it and upload the PDF
document.

 Navigate to CGI important links >>> Finance portal >>> My Info >>> Verification of
Aadhaar. Please connect through Pulse secure and ERAS to access the Finance Portal.

 Once the document is uploaded, it will be verified and approved by CGI Payroll Team
within seven working days. Once the document is approved by us, Authorities of the
EPFO will then verify your approved document to see if there is any mismatch,
discrepancies and so on.
 You will receive notification via SMS from EPF office after the request approved by
Employer and EPF office.
 Once KYC is approved, you will be able to view the details under the Member Profile in
UAN portal.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

1. Question: Is it mandatory to link Aadhaar with UAN?


Answer: Yes it is mandatory to complete the process of linking your Aadhaar with UAN
as per notification from PF Department.
2. Question: I forgot my UAN password what needs to be done now ?
Answer: Click on Forgot password option to change your password.
3. Question: While doing on the forgot password, if my mobile number is changed what
should I do?
Answer: Below process is applicable provided your Aadhaar is already updated in UAN
portal.
Steps to Change Mobile Number in UAN if forgotten Password
• Go to UAN website of EPF at UAN New Website
• Click on Forgot Password.
• Enter your UAN number and Captcha. Click on Verify.
• The mobile number mapped to your UAN will be shown. If you want to change the
mobile Number you can click on No.
• You will see the screen asking for your Name, Date of Birth, Gender. Click on Verify.
• Validate your details against Aadhaar or PAN. Click on Verify near the Document
number. Choose PAN for verification which is much easier.
• If you see Details Validated then you can enter a new mobile number. Click on Get
OTP.
• Once you enter OTP sent to your new mobile number, you will enter your new
password twice.
• You will see Password changed successfully message. You can click on Login to log
with your new password.

Question 4. If my mobile number updated in UAN portal is different and my Aadhaar is
not updated in UAN portal, how to change my password?
Answer : In this scenario first upload the scanned copy of the Aadhaar in finance portal
http://financeportal.groupinfra.com/MyInfo/Emp_Adhaar.aspx and raise a query in
Payroll Query System under the category – Provident Fund >>> Sub category >>> PF
KYC and Name change.

Question 5. I have completed updating my Aadhaar in UAN portal, how many days it will
take for approval?
Answer: From CGI Payroll team it will take seven working days and from PF office it will
take 15 to 20 days. If your request is approved or rejected by PF office you will be
notified via SMS by PF office. For more clarification you can login to UAN portal and
check the status.
