4. Electrical Checks:

1 Continuity of all the fuses

2 Connections of battery strings

5 Voltage level and specific gravity of battery at desired

temperature

6 Alarm operation and indication lamps glowing

5. Capacity test:

Aim:
To ensure that the battery system delivers its rated output for a desired time period

Note: If the electrolyte for the battery was filled at the site, then the charging cycle should
commenced within 24 to 36 hours

1) After filling electrolyte to the batteries, the bank should be kept at charge at boost mode
initially
2) After getting full charge, the batter systems was connected across load, which will drawn the
constant current from the battery source (This discharging current should be maintained at
constant level throughout the discharging process)
3) Each cell voltage, temperature and specific gravity should be noted for every one hour
4) For the complete time of this discharge process, every cell’s individual voltage should not
fall below 1.75V
