A vertebrate is an animal with a

spinal cord surrounded by


cartilage or bone. It includes
fish, amphibians, reptiles,
birds, and mammals .
Fish - are vertebrates that lives in water.

Amphibians means “double lives” which alludes the


ability to live on both land and water, they are also cooled
blooded animals. Around 400 million years ago,
amphibians were the first creatures to leave the sea and
dwell on land.
Reptiles – are cold- blooded animals, they can also
live both water and land, but they are more adapted
and can live on land for long periods of time because
they have better lungs and stronger legs. Reptile’s
body are covered with dry skin and hard scales

Mammals are warm-blooded animals. They are


the only group of animals with mammary glands
which produce milk. For most mammals, the
young develop inside the female’s body

Birds – are
warm-
blooded
animals. They remain active in cold and warm
climates. A bird’s bones are different from those
of most animals. They are hollow, and have a
honey comb structure, which makes them strong
but light.
