LIFE CYCLE

Is a series of stages that an

organism passes through
before it produce an offspring
(baby)
Pre-productive or
young
01 Which an organism
grows and mature
BASIC
STAGES Reproductive or
adult
02
Where an organism
produces an
offspring
ANIMALS LIFE CYCLE
ANIMALS THAT UNDERGO
SIMPLE LIFE CYCLE
These are animals that undergo three
stages:
1. before birth
2. young
3. adult
EXAMPLE:
- Dogs
- Birds
- Carabao
- Snake
ANIMALS THAT UNDERGO
METAMORPHOSIS
 Amphibians
 Insects
01 Eggs are laid in the water
AMPHIBIANS
- FROGS
02 Hatched eggs are called tadpoles

Tadpole stay underwater. They have

03 gills, fins, and tail

Once they start growing they start

04 to have legs

Full grown frogs losses their gills. It

05 is replaced with lungs, and they
leave water
01 Eggs – unborn stage
INSECT
-BUTTERFLY
Larva – also called as the caterpillar.
02 This is when most feeding is
done

Pupa or Chrysalis – the resting stage

03 The caterpillar transforms its body
on this stage

Adult – the final breeding stage,

04 adult comes out from pupa with
wings
ANIMALS THAT UNDERGO
INCOMPLETE
METAMORPHOSIS
Like
Dragonfly, grasshopper,
and cockroach
01 Eggs – unborn stage
DRAGONFLY

Nymph – young stage. Wings

02 develop as wing buds and will be
fully developed during the final
moult into adulthood

03 Adult – final stage

LIFE CYCLE OF
PLANTS
Food chain:
- A food chain refers to the order of events in an
ecosystem, where one living organism eats another
organism, and later that organism is consumed by
another larger organism.
PRODUCERS
- All plants are producers
- They produce their own food like glucose (a form of sugar)

CONSUMERS
- Animals that eat plants and/or other animals
- They can be herbivore, carnivore, or omnivore

DECOMPOSERS
- Living things that have the ability to decompose or decay dead
bodies of plants or animals
- Example: bacteria, worms, mushrooms
On a ½ sheet of paper crosswise,
write two examples of food chains
then identify the producer,
consumers, and decomposer.
