IV. SUMMARY AND KEY CONCEPTS

LET’S WRITE THIS!

• A trend is a product or idea that stayed through time because of the benefits people get.
• A fad, unlike a trend, rarely endures and is simply known as “flash in the pan.”
• Gestalt theory states that the world is a functional logical whole, the events and experiences in real life are
arranged into significant components, and the natural elements have their individual structure.
• Strategic analysis is analytic, rule-based, conscious, explicit, and slow.
• Intuitive thinking is intuitive, heuristic, unconscious, implicit, and fast.
• Social networks are human networks, for when people connect with one another they are in effect socializing with
one another.
• Globalization is the unrestricted allocation and relocation of services, goods, and capital from different zones
across nations.

5
• Technical global networks are adopted from telecommunications systems that utilize a variety of satellite, cable,
and wireless technologies.
• Interpersonal global networks include cross-border groups such as migrants, aid, or social workers involved in
advocacy work and even professionals discussing and debating about ideas and discoveries.
• Climate change is attributed primarily to human activities related to production and consumption patterns.
• Planetary networks are the interconnections and interrelations among the various elements in the natural
environment enveloping and affecting Earth as well as elements beyond Earth’s surface.
