Belting Check-In

Belting Revised View Exercises to Feel your way into safe monitoring
 Vv, ZZ, SHz
 Into Hey Hey, same feeling at speech level. Do not drive the voice!
 Monitor Retraction Laugh then Silent laugh. NO NOISE!
 Do a ‘laugh’ octave scale. CHECK INTO THE CHUCKLE
 Increase to comfortable volume.
 Now try to get the feeling without over spread so:
UHOH, OK-EE-Yeah… Get that tongue higher on the EH

Checklist
 1st Fingers under ear lobes
 Thumbs on collar bone
 Neck long
 Show teeth with an open bite
 Bunching Under Arms Pits…Find your lats.
Arms down by your side. Twist your arms. Then right angles.
Now wiggle your fingers and arms and maintain the work
 Soft knees
 Little finger test. Place your little finger between teeth. Say Tuh, Luh,
Duh, Nuh. No teeth marks
 Square mouth
 Tongue high and wide.
 Say twangy ‘yeah’. No teeth marks
 Make sure your not tightening up with a silent laugh
 Make it boring with a cynical smile, ie from zygotic muscles
 Use a Y glide…
 Keep straight tone…don’t round the vowels
 Keep the air moving..
 Use a launch note….usually

Vowel Matching
Take your favourite vowel. Yeah to You Yeah-Yi-Yuh-You
Y glides, help keep the tongue up….

Consonants
Surround the consant with the closest vowel
Eg Stop. Put Oh, in front of the word Osto. Make the movements between vowel and word
small
