Dear Sir/Madam

I am applying for the position of peripatetic Singing/Lamda teacher that was

advertised in ‘The Stage’. I have been teaching singing for many years with a key
emphasis on education towards professional performance. In this time, I have owned
a Theatre Arts School, worked within professional theatre, run a Lamda Examination
Centre and trained thousands of students who have gone on to do amazing things
with their voices including current West End stars and household names in the
pop/commercial music industry.

My tuition approach is not method specific, but about getting results, building
confidence and empowering young people to emancipate not only their singing voice
but also their ‘inner voice’ which is such an important aspect of coaching. From my
experience, this is sometimes overlooked in favour of empirical applications.

I teach Lamda exams from Entry to Grade 8 in both Singing and Drama. In my last
set of Lamda Musical Theatre exam results, 100 % of candidates received
Distinction.

Lamda are specific in how you approach their syllabus, and part of the training
involves staging the examination and using the voice correctly so that the candidate
understands what they are doing and more importantly why. This is quite different
from standard ‘singing exams’ as there is a focus on performance over academic
ability. This can be quite liberating for the right candidate, who may struggle with
convention academic approaches to music.

If you are interested in my services, I would be happy come along to your school
for an interview at your discretion. Please contact me personally if you have any
questions about my work or have a little browse on my social media channels on
Instagram or TikTok. I can be found by searching for @singing4stage.

Thanks for reading this and I hope to speak to you soon. Please see my attached
CV, for a more detailed breakdown of my experience.

Your Sincerely,
